Nancy, I’m way out in left field now, but what about Caroline Kennedy? I know she doesn’t have any practical experience in politics, but I’m sure she knows how the process works, and I was reading where one of the Presidential nominees actually chose the person he hired to vet for his VP, as his running mate (name escapes me at the moment), but I’m not sure what type of political background that person possessed.

Oh gosh, Nancy, of the three of them Evan Bayh is the best (tall, handsome) looking one. He shines and will be the only one who could stand next to Obama without fading into the background! My “gut” reaction to the other two was that they had skeletons in their closets and to pass on them fast.

Yeah, a woman VP who had been a governor may be good on the ballet to make the Hillary fans happier but the geriatric crowd would appreciate seeing a more familiar white man up there. So which is the larger number of the population?

BTW, It sure is disappointing about John Edwards having the affair while his wife was ill (though he just came out and said that her kid isn’t his). He had been my 2nd choice after Dennis K.

Nancy, let’s reiterate your last post on the previous thread, in case some (Josh) missed it:

One look at Obama’s chart shows that the charge of him being a hawk does not hold water. His Mars is trine Saturn, which is in its rulership of Capricorn. He is not an angry, aggressive person, but tends to go carefully and thoughtfully. His strong 7th house also indicates that he likes to reach consensus rather than attack (like McCain’s Mars/Uranus square) or be a control freak like Bush (Pluto/ Ascendant).

Brian - I had understood that the Hillaryites would be furious if he picked another woman besides Hillary. Maybe I am wrong? The biggest problem with Sibelius is that Neptune will square her Sun all through 2009. There is nothing to suggest she would lose in November, and there is a progressed Venus conjunct natal Uranus for popularity. She also has a Sun/Venus conjunction with Obama in the composite chart, so they get along. I think Bayh with all the Jupiter/Pluto energy and the Sun/Mercury with Obama is probably the strongest of those I have looked at. Looking at those two charts, I think they could probably talk about anything, which I think O would really appreciate.

Nancy, I think you are correct. It is going to be Bayh. I noticed when Obama and Bayh were campaigning earlier this week, Bayh looked absolutely in love with Obama. The hugs and his patting Obama on the back and head was quite interesting. I think Obama already told Bayh it was him and at the same time Obama was campaigning with Bayh, Michelle was with Tim Kaine. After the fundraiser with Michelle, Kaine who normally has been coy about the possiblity of being VP gave a stern comment saying that he never sought the VP position and his only goal was to campaign for Obama to make him President.

Also reporters noted that a film crew were on hand filming Bayh and Obama as they walked the rope line.

Again Nancy thanks for your response about the Democratic convention. One more question though, how will the news of Bill speaking and Edwards not speaking effect the convention? Also what is Hillary up to? Is there going to be a roll call for her (I don’t think so, but would love your informed analysis)?

Side note: when I found out last night that Bill was speaking at the convention on Wed night, the thought popped up that John was axed because he said that he made arrangement with Obama to speak at the convention when he endorsed Obama. Now today we all know the reason why Edwards won’t be speaking but his wife will.

Professor - Jupiter is now within a degree of its opposition to US Sun. The Market has had two strong days this week. it may continue. the dollar is also stronger and gold is going down. If this trend continues, it will do so only until about October 1. Jupiter goes into a one-degree orb of the quincunx to obama’s Sun as of august 14. I think we will see positive things for him through September 9 under this aspect. Jupiter then continues to impact him by its semisquare to his MC through through October 6. I use the term Jupiter station a bit loosely, referring more to the planetary placements that it will hit for several weeks rather than a few days, the more normal transit.

I feel really bad about John Edwards. Our gossipy, 24 hour news makes it impossible for so many good people to use their talent. This may make even an appointment as Attorney General impossible.

I don’t see any significant problem for Obama at the convention with Jupiter waxing into the quincunx to his Sun. I think Michelle is also under Jupiter, square her natal Jupiter for the long stretch.

I think John Edwards’ statement today was a good one. One can certainly understand why one would be candid with family but withhold it from airing in public. That is a human trait. It’s unfortunate he made such an indiscretion in the first place, but his career shouldn’t be shelved because of it, especially with a lot more shameful things being done by other public figures.

If I remember correctly, Nancy indicated good things for his career, and I feel he has something of value to offer this country.

It’s not the affair that bothers me about Edwards, it’s the repeated lies. That is what does all politicans in. I don’t expect perfect out of politicans but I except honesty.

He should of came clean before announcing his bid for the presidency. What if he had secured the nomination and this bombshell would ensure another republican presidency for the next year.

I blame his own self described hubris for thinking he could get away with this and as much as I feel sorry for Elizabeth, but she knew about the affair and ok John’s presidential run.

They put their own ambition above the need of the country. I always thought John was smug and swarmy but this is beyond $500 haircuts.

and there is a key story about John Edwards that convinced me of his swarminess. Most politicans talk about people they meet on the campaign trail who are struggling. But John used to do it with too much zeal. Giving out personal information of the citizen’s name and town they lived in.

There is an story that when John Kerry was considering him for VP, that Edwards told him this story- preface with the point of never telling anyone this story- about how he laid his body over his son who had died and talked about that emotion. Later a political advisor to Kerry told Kerry that John told him the same story with the same perface.

John’s stories on the trail always struck me a defense lawyer expolitation and there was something unseemingly about it.

John talked a good game but hasn’t produced that much for the public good. Maybe he can put actions into words as he tries to redeem himself.

Nancy, good article. I had predicted that Bayh would be the VP in a blog on July 9th and again on July 17th. I agree with most of your thoughts on this, although I’m not into astrology as far as you are, and take a much more basic approach to predicting. I mostly zeroed in on the aspects on Jan. 20th ‘09. The drama for Obama and Bayh, and to a slightly lesser extrent for Tim Kaine, was striking. The reason why I dedided it must be Bayh who will be the VP is because the 20th is so dramatic for him, and if he were not the one selected, I think the day wouldn’t be so remarkable. Kaine will have a joyful day anyway (whether VP or not) if Obama wins, because he’s good friends with him, co-chair of his campaign. So, it stands to reason his stars also look very good on this day.

I do have a question for you–or anyone reading this who cares to answer. In the absense of the exact birth time of Bayh, do you have any guesses as to when he might have been born? Do you get a sense of his rising sign? I can sometimes tell by watching people, but I get no sense with him. Do you?

Hi Nancy! Have you checked Gen. Wesley Clark’s chart lately? I’ve always thought of him as a dark horse in this race, perhaps his chart will explain the “none of the above” vibe

Hi Lisa - I see you use the same thinking I do in prediction of elections: who looks happy will win and who looks sad will lose. It seems kind of simple but it usually works. There was someone back in 2002 that I thought would win because he looked so happy just after the election. He lost but he had just gotten married after the election. So the technique isn’t foolproof!!

Bayh is not easy to figure out. His affect seems kind of flat to me (Moon/Saturn opposition). I think the Moon is in Gemini but muted and stressed by Saturn rather than being in Taurus, but Saturn can really cloud the issue there. He could have Virgo rising with the Moon in 10. Or maybe Aquarius rising. I doubt he has a fire sign rising. He probably is not born really late in the day because the Moon/Saturn seems quite strong. More than that I can’t say. Not having a birth time for so many charts has led me to use the converse progressions and the tertiaries to get more information.

I have considered that Biden could have early Leo rising with Pluto in the first and Sun/Venus in the 5th.

Hi Heather - I had thought Clark had an excellent chance to be VP until the GOP smashed him for saying that being a POW doesn’t give you the requisite expertise to be pres. I still think the Dems should have fought back on that and defended him, since what he said was so obviously true. He could still be in the running. If not, I think he could be in the administration, perhaps National Security Advisor. I still like Biden for Sec of State.

I thought the same thing about Clark when it happened. But now I’m not sure. With all the things McCain has said about Obama like “he would lose a war to win an election” Clark’s comments seem to have faded away. But they have not faded out of peoples minds.

My father is a vet, (he’s very non-political) but he thinks just like Clark. He also wanted to know if McCain “knows how to win a war” which war did he win?

I think that Obama is waiting until after the convention to really hit back against all the McCain claims. And this subject will come back up in a postive (for Obama) way. So maybe Clark will become more interesting.

Have you had a chance to look at his chart? And without birth times is there any value in looking at the different composite charts?

Kathy, I agree, I don’t think Bayh’s moon is in Taurus. I get a sense of a more airy detachment about him. I think the Saturn opposition makes it hard for him to really loosen up. I was also thinking perhaps a mild Virgo rising. Or equally mild-mannered Libra. When you consider that his ruler Saturn is in Scorpio and his Mars, within ten degrees of that, well, the man has backbone, and yet he projects a milquetoast image to people. So I would think either Libra rising with Neptune in the first house or Virgo with Jupiter near the ascendant. He also has a sort of sunniness about him, so that could be Jupiter near the ascendant, or Libra rising. And then of course, I might be totally wrong.

I don’t know anything about progressions or tertieries. That’s probably too complicated for me!

I was considering emailing Bayh’s office and asking for his birth time. Have you tried doing that? Maybe it would work ?

Carol - Wes Clark has a birth time of 5:43 AM with Scorpio rising, the same degree as Obama’s MC. My one concern about him is the Mars at 20 Sag which will be squared by Saturn from late November through January. but again, I foresee great difficulties for the nation then and I think whoever wins will have a great deal of work to do quite quickly and efficiently (Saturn). Pluto will cross Clark’s Sun beginning in December, so increasing power is possible.

Brian - I didn’t blame the media for Edwards troubles at all. Those lie at Edwards feet. I can’t believe he ran for president with this hidden away. If he had won the nomination, we would have had a big mess right now. I just feel that this story is an opportunity to switch the conversation to McCain’s past transgressions against a wife who had suffered incredible health problems. Abandoning her when she had just been through a devastating accident, for a wealthy, younger heiress was pretty craven. This is a story that hasn’t been covered, and people should know what he did before they consider voting for him.

While appearing for some contract work in Stone Harbor Island, NJ last month, I literally ran into Joe Biden (sun was in my eyes and I didn’t see him at first) he was jogging in the early evening of the July 4 weekend. I was surprised at just how tall and slender he is. He looked to be in great shape and was very tan. No planets, no transits, nothing more to report.

That is also part of the reason Hillary predicts/wish for Obama to lose. She is only really viable for another shot at the White House in 4 years. Politics is not kind to women nor is it kind to women who are seniors.

As for Edwards, I too am displeased by his hubris in running for President with this lie hanging over his head. And I’m glad we dodged the bullet with Hillary because the Republicans all ready were prepared to zero in on Bill’s dalliances post WH and all his strange jet setting friends.

LJ, thanks for the info on Edwards. I always thought that he was two face. All his talk about two americans, he was reflecting upon the two John Edwards. The one whose father worked in a mill and the other side is the high price fancy lawyer.

John’ the mill workers son likes going into a bar and flirting with women and the fancy lawyer wanted his win his biggest case-convincing (conning) the American people (jury) that he should be President.

And even though my heart breaks for Elizabeth and her children. I still hold her equally responsible for giving John the ok on his Presidential run. Colin Powell’s wife stopped Colin from running due to safety concerns. And Elizabeth and John say they are equal partners.

Sonya - It suggests a generally upbeat and celebratory time. It is very positive. It then crosses his Venus and quincunxes natal Jupiter in January. Looks good to me. I will run it through all my calculations now that I have a birth time.

LJ, I had looked on Astrodatabank and didn’t see Evan Bayh listed, but I did see his father, Birch Bayh, who’s also born in January (on the 22). Are you sure you have the birthtime for the right Mr. Bayh? And if so, how reliable do you think this info is? Did it say on Astrodatabank what their source was?

But that said, the Cap rising chart actually does look right to me. I noticed that there will be a T-Mercury Trine N-Moon aspect on August 27th, which if he’s the VP choice, will be when he gives his speech at the Convention. Also, the following night he’ll have a Venus Trine Moon, which would be the night he joins Barack for the acceptance of the nomination.

Well, I have to say if this is Bayh’s correct chart, I’m liking it. I think the man has some depth, which is certainly a good thing. Would you all agree with me that he’s not as wimpy as he comes off? I mean with that Mars, and his ruler in Scorpio. Cap with Taurus moon is pretty tough and certainy steady (though cautious). The only thing wimpy to me is the Sun in the 12th, I suppose. George W. has a 12th house sun also, and I think those who do have a tendancy to feel very vulnerable. Perhaps this was why Bayh initially backed Bush on the war, because he shares this feeling. Anyway, Bayh is clearly more Hawkish than Obama and I think this will help Obama get elected. I suspect there are still a number of people reluctant to vote for Obama because he seems Dove-ish.

LJ - I am concerned about this birth time as well. I can’t find it anywhere. Where did you find it? I will admit that 12th house sun and first house Venus sound quite possible, but I don’t want to work it up when it isn’t at all certain. Have you contacted Astrodatabank for this? Sometimes things aren’t listed yet on their long list.

Evan Bayh 8:19 a.m.–Hope I am understood. I yahoo’d in astrology chart for Sen. Evan Bayh and the first website that pops up is a chart for George W. Bush, but in the sentences, is Evan Bayh and his birth time. Maybe it was too easy? wrong? But you are right, it was not listed in astrodatabanks inventory of charts. But Yahoo it in and it is right there on top?? I “feel” that it is correct Because of his “bone structure”? and his rigid but forceful demeanor. He is more hawkish that Obama and has voted with Republicans a lot and he and Hillary vote a lot together. He is rising in stature maybe because of the Jupiter transit this year. The Sun in the 12th would put together his feeling he has to follow his father, the same as Bush. He seems very intelligent and would give Obama some grounding. I am not happy personally with his voting record, but could live with him as V.P. and they are very “attractive”

LJ - Thanks for responding. The chart certainly seems to fit him. Do you know which site had this chart listed, i.e. who was the astrologer? It is possible it is a rectified chart, which I never trust. But I do like it for him, so for now, we will use it with an asterisk until we have confirmation.

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. The website was under Astrology software for research-G.W. chart and it only listed Evans name and time of birth. “Then” I go to astro.com and put in the info and “astro.com” makes up the chart. I do not know how reliable that website is?? for making charts, but mine is correct and so is my daughter’s and I had them done by a professional in Seattle, Dennis Flaherty. He does Vedic now, but yrs. ago followed Western astrology. But that is how I got the info of Cap. rising. A more knowledgable astrologer, such as you, might differ, and it is up for more confirmation. I only know enough about astrology to get me”by” and get me thro disasters and a study in personalities that I can be comfortable with. But I could not live without it as a guide. Hope that helps. I will ask/write more about Rielle Hunter later.

After you get to the page you have to scroll down about halfway, and in the comments someone named Joanne writes a bit about Bayh at the end of her paragraph. She includes his birth time and his place of birth and she does spell ‘Shirkieville’ correctly (no easy task) so perhaps the birthtime is correct too. I wonder where she got it? Anyway, I think the Cap rising chart could very well be right. But, when he becomes the official VP pick we’ll probably find his birth time crop in more places on the web. I would email his Senate office but I think they would ignore this sort of request.

Lisa, I didn’t even get as far as Penelope. I couldn’t even find that one. The time I found was in the webpage, the first listing about comments on GW. And I believe you are right that there should be a birth certificate after he is nominated.
But Evan feels “earthy”. Today in Huffington Post, they listed a web page-webofdeception.com,
and that gave Rielle Hunters birthdate as 3-20-1964, no time, Fort Lauderdale Fla. If that is correct, she and John Edwards planets look good
together. Only time will tell if they end up together someday. But I doubt that he recovers politically. Now, we just have to anticipate who Obama will really pick for V.P. Nancy has done some great analysis.

I’m really afraid that all the attacking McCain is doing will work. Once he names his VP (Leiberman?) it should get worse.

Thank you, LJ. The poster says it is rated C on Lois Rodden’s site. The chart looks good to me, but I will still wait for confirmation. She also gives a time for Biden that really seems wrong to me (three planets in the 12th?). Let us all keep our eyes open for what other astrologers are using and any new data that comes. In the meantime, I will use this 8:19 time for Bayh.

Biden doesn’t seem like a 12th house person but I think he had the stuttering problem as a child and did a lot of speech practicing, alone. And the wife and a child died in the car accident, which caused tremendous grief plus I think he had a brain tumor? I am not certain of that one, but a real time might need more research. I do not see Bayh as an attack dog, that Obama needs. Ed Rendall, Gov. of Pa. is great on attack, but has said some racist things plus had a Conference Meeting with Louis Farrenkah-spelled wrong. I hope Obama gets more aggressive, and he still has the Clinton pouting problem too. It will be a sad state of affairs if McCain stole the election.

My gut tells me that what’s going on in Georgia is pretty major yet I don’t see much TV coverage when in fact what we’re watching is a unwitting return to the Cold War or something worse.

Our news media is poor on Russia/Georgia. Try the British papers on line. They have been forth right in their coverage. It is complicated but there is something to do with Isreal and oil. Isreal has invested millions in Georgia. Putin is a Scorpio, and he always has something up his sleeve.

As for Obama and Bayh, I think that if he picks Bayh, he should also let it be known that Biden will be his Sec of State and have Biden out there on TV looking brilliant on foreign policy and swatting McCain and Bush’s ideas and failures.

As for Biden being SOS, he has the intelliegence and experience but he puts his foot in his mouth too often for me to support him in a position where words matter.

Brian - Good point about losing Bayh in the Senate from a red state. That could be a deal breaker. I would love to see Wes Clarke as VP but we haven’t heard much about him lately.

Pat S, you mentioned Bayh’s wife Susan. I also read something about that on USA Today this afternoon. It does looks pretty unseemly that she was in a position to possibly benefit from his position as a Senator. I think if he is the VP pick she ought to pledge to quit working for these health insurance and pharma companies. Bayh is already not trusted by the left wing of the Democratic party, so this stuff about his wife will not help things at all.

Nancy, in his brief presentations in Hawaii, Obama looks and seems a little fatigued. I’m glad his jupiter station begins Thursday, but I’m surprised that there seems to be no foreshadowing. Do you think the invasion of Georgia will affect the campaign?

This whole things seems surreal. Sort of like watching a train wreck in slow motion, and knowing you can’t stop it. I still can’t believe how drastically things have changed in less than 8 years.

I think if humanity survives the next year, it will be a miracle. We are teetering on the brink of a precipice. The heart of humanity is good and sound and does the right thing in moments of crisis–if only the idiots who run things were so inclined as well. A **united** world outcry is the only thing that has a chance to stop this insanity.

We cannot succumb to the glamour of futility! The time to speak out is NOW.

Professor - McCain is now under progressed Moon conjunct progressed Mars for the next month. His response to the Georgia/Russiaconflict was very aggressive, and I think he may go too far in this respect. There is really nothing we can do to Russia, and Putin knows it, and this is a result of the policies of the past several years, thanks to McBush. Interestingly, Neptune is quincunx McCain’s Venus through August 18, and I think that is feeding his dream of becoming president.

According to wikepedia, Georgia proclaimed itself as a soveriegn nation on May 26, 1918. Wes Clark looks very good to me and could well be the candidate. I thought the GOP pushed him out a few months back when he slapped at McCain, but maybe not. He is a winner if picked and would be more of a fighter than Bayh.

Professor - I mailed it to them yesterday. Use the VP nominee and use Biden, that is what I said. Of course, I am assuming Biden will be S of S. I really hope Obama goes for Clark instead of Bayh. It really diminishes McCain’s strongest assets.

Lisa - That is a wonderful article and very well written. Kudos to you!! I would only add something about the Aquarius rising - the capacity to see all humankind working together for common goals and the source of his more visionary quality. And his South Node connection to the US Aquarius Moon suggests that he speaks to that part of the American psyche and identity, the part that sees us as a collection of so many disparate people pulling together as one. This has been one of his major themes and it is right there in his chart. It is not a political ploy.

Thanks Nancy. Yeah, I know the reading could have been much longer but I felt for that forum it was best to keep it short. My main point was to point out that he really is pretty much what he presents himself to be. I think there are a lot of people who suspect he’s got some sort of hidden agenda but we see in the chart his agenda is exactly what he says it is.
