Still No Power

Unfortunately, this week’s power failure has not yet abated for my family. There is no way I can write much that is coherent for you at this point. But I am starting a new thread just for the benefit of the discussion group here.

  1. will says:

    O, Fortuna!

Be safe, Nancy. Shade, hydration, at the very least. I am so very sorry for your troubles. Has an oddly Uranian and Plutonic feel to it, what with all of our musings, huh? Keep the faith.

  2. Noelle says:

Nancy, I feel for you. I’m west of Phila. and even my little dog doesn’t want to go for a walk.

I’m a great believer in angels. You might ask them for some breezes and to help the poor guys trying to fix the power lines.

  3. clymela says:

Oh Noelle!! thank you so much for thinking of the workers as well as those we know personally.

  4. alex says:

The existence of the Higgs Boson particle has been a scientific theory for 47 years.

  5. Pat Sharp says:

    I didn’t l know what that was so I looked it up………….
And THIS is reassuring………from Matthew, new as of July 4th

“9. Because a particular issue is in the forefront of so many minds around the world, we shall speak of it. President Obama will be reelected, and this is no more a matter of politics now than it ever was. Often we have told you that the Golden Age master planners requested this soul from a highly evolved civilization to come to the planet specifically to fill one of the most strategic positions during this phase of Earths’ ascension out of third density and entry into fourth. And all of you agreed with this when you enthusiastically chose your own roles in this lifetime. ”
Overheard cell phone conversation Mon. In Machias Maine………so I asked to double check.
The person in VA on the other end was saying they didn’t expect power to be restored until Saturday! Yikes. sending you rain & cool breezes!

  6. Lune Prière says:

Starlight, I hope you get your power back soon. My relatives near Leesburg VA had their’s come on today, so maybe yours will be next! I’m sure it’s been a long week for everyone there.

    Happy 4th everyone!

  7. barbk says:

    Dear Nancy,

I was so hoping to see you had returned to civilization tonight. Am sending love and light to you and your family and all those who are dear to you. You have amazing endurance and at the very least it will make a great story for you to tell. We wait with bated breath to hear good news from you.

  8. Jerry says:

Elsa from just posted an interesting youtube video; a brief 2 minute summation on the upcoming July Mars-Uranus-Pluto t square which I think bears watching:

Although not mentioned, Elsa’s concerns seems to run parallel to current rising tensions in the Persian Gulf. The dangerous US/Israel and Iranian military posturing is reaching alarming levels and could accidentally spill over into armed confrontation if caution isn’t exercised……

Western Forces Gather As Israel Looks Set To Attack Iran

As Iran tests ballistic missile, Israel has only a short window in which to strike Iran’s nuclear centrifuges

    The Week/ First Post UK
    an editorial by Robert Fox
    July 4, 2012

THE United States has ordered more ships and warplanes to the Gulf as allied commanders in Washington and London have been quietly shortening the odds on conflict with Iran this summer.

At the weekend, 100 members of the Tehran parliament signed a motion for a new law to empower Iranian naval and Revolutionary Guard units to attack tankers carrying non-Iranian oil and particularly those destined for the United States.

  9. fierywoman says:

Whoa! So the date of the announcement sits smack on the date of the US chart …

  10. Francis says:

Oh Nancy, and all of you who are in the heat suffering, I am in San Francisco and actually am a bit chilled with the wind. We have to wear hoodies or at least coats. But this is SF in the summer. Wish I could throw a party for all you wonderful folks slowly roasting in the summer of climate change. Lordy, and Lady only knows what weather patterns will be like for the generation who could be our grand children!

No one has posted about the God Particle. I’m surprised. Some of you have been posting about a shift in consciousness, a paradigm shift…. and I believe it is here. Let me explain. This is the stuff the mistics and sages have been talking about. The stuff which connects us, the unifying stuff that is in us and hold us together to give us form, and connect us with each other and everything else, and because it is called the God Particle we will associate it with intelligence. We can all finally take a deep breath and breathe a bit knowing or having the faith that there is indeed some kind of Method to the Madness, something many of us here already knew deep inside.

The current paradigm, the Abrahamic religions have created much of the mess we are now in. People look around and there are the Jews and the Muslims and Christians who dominate the landscape and frankly, with all their feuds, are holding us back. Now there is an alternative, a unifying Principal that suggest to us that we are all connected, and because we call it a God Particle, it has intelligence! AND it has been proven by science!! The choice is there and people, especially young people will of course, choose it, over the Abrahamic religious paradigm. It will take a few decades to sink in, but the shift has come. I truly feel that what I have lived and needed to see has come and that no matter who wins our election, the shift that is the fulcrum to the Aquarian Age has arrived.

  11. Jerry says:

Just a quick follow-up. As a reminder, the mid July Uranus-Pluto-Mars T Square will be activating Israel’s natal Sun (23 Taurus) at harsh 45-135 degree angles. On the 17th, the Moon joins this configuration forming a Cardinal Grand Cross Square…..

    Where The Alarm Flashes Red
    by David Ignatius
    (associate editor and columnist
    for The Washington Post)

    Korean Herald
    July 4, 2012

JERSUALEM ? A popular new slogan making the rounds among government ministers here is that in dealing with Iran, Israel faces a decision between “bombing or the bomb.” In other words, if Israel doesn’t attack, Iran will eventually obtain nuclear weapons.

This stark choice sums up the mood among top officials of the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: It’s clear that Israel’s military option is still very much on the table, despite the success of economic sanctions in forcing Iran into negotiations.

“It’s not a bluff, they’re serious about it,” says Efraim Halevy, a former head of the Mossad, Israel’s intelligence service. A half-dozen other experts and officials made the same point in interviews last week: The world shouldn’t relax and assume that a showdown with Iran has been postponed until next year. Here, the alarm light is still flashing red.

Israeli leaders have been warning the Obama administration that the heat isn’t off for 2012. When a senior Israeli politician visited Washington recently and was advised that the mood was calmer than in the spring, the Israeli cautioned that the Netanyahu government hadn’t changed its position “one iota.”

  12. alex says:

Hi Nancy, even if any local hotels with power are booked they have lobby with AC, bathroom and probably dining room; good place for an evening or afternoon; if it comes to it any hospital with power has cafeteria, AC, bathrooms and waiting rooms; if you have to get out of the heat – best wishes,

  13. fierywoman says:

And finally we have an answer to the skeptics who insist that we couldn’t POSSIBLY be influenced by a planet as far away as Pluto …

  14. Francis says:

we and that planet are connected, and it is proven!! I truly believe thing are going to change in very significant ways because of this discovery!

  15. Jerry says:

A fascinating if not obscure transit involved in this intricate configuration has to do with the dark moon Lillith. Remarkably, it is precisely conjoining the Israeli Sun at the time of the Cardinal Grand Cross Square on the 17th. Could that suggest a threat to Israel’s survival (the Sun denoting the core of ones identity)? Here’s the July 17th chart for quick reference:

And here’s a coherent astrological explanation of Lillith by the AquaMoonlight Astrology website:

    The Dark Moon

Dark Moon, Black Moon or Lilith, this hypothetical point in astrology is known by several names. Some argue that the Dark Moon is one thing, Black Moon another and Lilith yet another. The reality is that there is an asteroid named Lilith, but it is not the same as the Dark or Black Moon. However, when used as a point in a birthchart, all three names appear valid as they all seem to describe the same thing.

This point arises due to the Moon’s path around the ecliptic forming an axis of the perigee when the moon’s orbit is closest to the earth and the apogee when its orbit is furthest from the earth. It is an empty area, a void created, an empty focus. Moving at about 40 degrees a year, the perigee is from where the path of the Dark Moon is calculated. It takes a little under nine years for it to complete its course.

In astrology, the Dark Moon is representative of the darker side of our nature, the negative side. It is the hidden depths that we know exist yet we prefer not to acknowledge. It is subtle on the surface, yet profound beneath. It is the foundations of our personality and the shocking truth that we often deny and project onto others instead. The refusal to see what is really within ourselves. The subtle refusal to see what part we may have played in some unpleasant drama of our lives, how we ourselves have manifested our fears. It is the kind of thing that we intrinsically know we have to deal with, confront the darker side in order to progress unhindered, yet most often we try to ignore. It is the deeper truth that we are forever in search of within ourselves. Probably the best use we can make of the dark moon is to explore our hidden depths, realise that we all have that darker side and go within to resolve that which ultimately hinders us.

The Dark Moon is representative of the negative traits of guilt, shame, hatred, envy, and vengefulness, often brought about by personal wounds and hurts. The true dark side of things we try to hide.

  16. Teresa Hill says:

Read an article that described the God particle as making up the ocean we all swim in, the thing that connects us all.

  17. Teresa Hill says:

Yes, we lived in a couple of restaurants, particularly a coffee house, when we were out of power for nine days. Will always love those businesses who had power and stayed open, helping us all through it.

  18. Teresa Hill says:

You’ve missed much Supreme Court drama, stronger claims that Roberts changed his vote late in the process, that he changed it and then withstood a furious effort by Scalia and the other conservatives to change his mind.
Also, reports that Roberts wrote both the opinion and the dissenting opinion. I don’t know how that could be, although maybe it’s his right, as chief justice.
Read reports that he wrote the decision in April and May, and then endured the lobbying effort to change his mind for a month.

  19. Pat Sharp says:

I HAVE SURVIVED THE FIRST PLUTO URANUS SQUARE, during my Saturn opposition, with Uranus 2o from conjunct my Venus in the 10th, Sun approaching conjunction with my progressed Venus, & Chiron, with my basic needs met, and .6c left over…………… efforts to connect people spreading like Mike Gravel’s ripples in that ad where he threw a stone into the water………….He did not win the Presidency, a position of power and abundance…..but HOW many people did he reach? Same for Dean & Kucinich.
I am living in a state of grace grateful for what I DO wet/ Maine. My neighbor’s fireworks display last night from my porch chair. I DO believe in the shift………it IS happening……….
This is from Matthews Message for July 4th……………………………………………………………….
[“There is continuous monitoring of Earth happenings and how effectively the light intensity is raising the collective consciousness, and *as soon the possibility of widespread fear no longer exists,* our space family will join you.

    29. During the interim they will continue using technology aboard their crafts to reduce the toxic effects of chemtrails and other pollutants. They will continue to level out the effects of earthquakes and soften the power of major storms without decreasing the amount of negativity released. They will keep on causing weaponry to malfunction, blocking the most potent aspects of the Illuminati’s weather control technology, and destroying their operations in mammoth underground facilities. Also with divine permission to assist you, they can relocate specified individuals who refuse to step down from the helm of various activities that are against the good of Earth humankind”]. ……………Jerry please lose your fear and join me in belief!

  20. karen says:

Francis, Alec posted above re: dates of Higgs Boson inception. And yes, the evidence (still being collected via the smashing-atoms colliders) represents an opportunity to expand our consciousness. Perhaps this will only happen, however, when outmoded ways of being smash into the world of ideas creating an entirely different paradigm?

I recall some years ago when geneticists discovered humanity’s common link, that we were all connected to one African woman (ah EVE!) yet despite this evidence many still hold on tightly to preconceived and dangerous notions of superiority.

  21. karen says:

Godspeed particles of invention to the east coast power grid which, I understand, is one of the worst in the nation. I’m sure there’s a lot of grumbling in your household, Nancy, and I will bet you’ve a number of scathing letters to send to your reps pointing out the cruelty of subjecting the populous to this kind of degradation.

We’re going to install a solar system, one that feeds back to the grid. However, this is only a start since we’ll not be independent of weather-related interruptions. We need to have a national energy policy that focuses on alternatives. What will it take to do so?

  22. Jerry says:

Did I hear my name being mentioned? No perceptible fear involved in my sharing here Pat. At least none that I am aware of. Regarding the burden of belief, hopefully that is dropped by the wayside as well. The state of grace you were referring to (so say the mystics) can only occur in moments of hushed silence, when the noisiness of an over-active mind begins to subside. Here’s one of my favorite Rumi poems – set to music, that captures the essence of it (a three minute video worth watching)…….

Love Said To Me ~ A Poem by Rumi

  23. Noelle says:

Pisca, thanks for posting info on LIBOR. I’m familiar with LIBOR rate and in fact used it as the basis of a credit card fee for corporations years ago.

I firmly believe that this is the tip of a very large iceberg which will bring light to how we have all been manipulated by a clandestine group of greedy people for many, many years. This will, of course, include the FED.

Interesting that US media hasn’t focused on this. Probably too complicated for them. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is so much easier.

  24. Stefanie says:

Nancy — I’ve discovered that the most hydrating (and delicious) thing one can drink is coconut water! It also doesn’t require refrigeration. It’s full of potassium and other minerals, so goes further than water to keep you in ship shape. They sell it at all markets now, not just Whole Foods type places. Sending you air conditioned thoughts from NYC!

The shifts on the planet are so palpable during the last week it’s almost impossible to keep track. From the SCOTUS decision last week to the God particle to the insane weather patterns and Middle East turmoil, it is not stopping. It’s like time is speeding up and slowing down at the same time — that’s how I’m experiencing it. It has that feeling of watching history unfold and knowing you’re alive at one of the most important moments in centuries. Somehow, I feel like many are figuring out how to connect their own experience to the collective. We’re all in the soup together — the “cosmic goo” which has been proven to be a real thing! I love the language of physicists, they come up with such awesome metaphoric phraseology. I am feeling less and less as if it’s going to take a doomsday event to shift consciousness, as I’ve believed since the mid-2000’s. It seems like it’s happening on its own, no mega-disaster required to get people to wake up.

Speaking of waking up, has anyone here been tracking the Barclays/Libor scandal? That is HUGE news, and for me, signals that the bankers are finally going to have to face the music. Occupy Wall Street writ large. I hope so, at least.

  25. clymela says:

Dear Francis-I have not spoken on the God Particle because I am old-fashioned. We are speaking here of what another physicist termed “the Nothing form which something always is born” Oh paraphrasing here but this has been my joy for the past few weeks. the god Particle is indeed of the new Paradigm. We do indeed move and breath and have out lives in this glorious Nothing which provides everything-everything. I have been grateful to be released from Christianity and even Paganism with all the levels of authority, etc. I look forward to more thinking on the new consciousness and of course I somewhat fear what those still in the old consciousness with power may do now that reality doesn’t hold to our agreements.

  26. clymela says:

Please forgive the typos-I was flying around in my spirit mind and forgot to edit.

  27. barbk says:

Thanks for noting Alex’s “birth” announcement info above karen, and to Francis for his expansion on the God Particle event. At PlanetWaves, paola (Italian lady contributer) called it a demonsration of the existence of the Higgs’ boson particle(s?) and also passed on info she read for the reason it is called God’s particle. “A physicist wrote a book on it many years ago, and titled this book ‘The Goddamn Particle’ because they were searching and searching but couldn’t find it. The editor decided to change the title to ‘The God Particle’, for purely marketing reasons. And he did good, because the book sold a lot.”

javed also has written on his website a very interesting article that includes the partial birthchart of the Large Hadron Collider (Sept. 10, 2008) and the Full Moon chart at the time of the announcement, with interesting related data. For example, the Sun in the LHC chart has progressed to 21 Virgo 42 which is conjunct the star Denobola at 21 Virgo 44, “a star that has been connected with scientific attainments.”

Personally, I connect this discovery to the Great Attractor at 14+ Sagittarius due to it being opposite the Venus-occult-Sun event at 15+ Gemini last month. Asteroid Atlantis who symbolizes advanced technology was sextile the GA from 14+ Aquarius, and trine the Sun-Venus-Chaos conjunction in that chart (June 5, 2012).

Phil Sedgwick says “The attraction to this point [the GA] possesses a seductive tone, but in a classical Sagittarian mode. There’s something about it. It seems to possess this energy – it’s mysterious, it’s captivating, it might even be a direct personification of the Creator! Regardless, it knows something you have to know.” If this “discovery”, sometimes referred to as the God particle, it seems logical that contact with a “direct personification of the Creator” would be highly influential in the name as well as the scientific aspects of the project and indeed, the timing. I will leave the link to Phil’s site in a separate comment to follow, in case having two links in one post is not acceptable.

  28. barbk says:

So sorry for the mangled sentence in the last paragraph. How about. . It seems logical that if this “discovery” sometimes referred to as the God particle makes contact with a “direct personification of the creator” it would be highly influential. . . .

    Here is Phil Sedgwick’s site:

  30. Noelle says:

Pat, I think that was one of the best Matthew’s Messages yet. Especially about Obama and so much more.

Jerry, if not fear, how about “alarmist”?

  31. Noelle says:

    Stefanie, see above re LIBOR

  32. andre says:

The LIBOR scandal means the world financial system is rotten at its core and this corruption is now exposed for all to see. The last Secretary of the Treasury under GWB (I forget his name)wrote in his memoirs that in 2008 the world financial system was 48 hours away from a complete meltdown, meaning no working ATM machines anywhere. I’m not sure that will be avoided when the US hits its fiscal cliff at the end of the year. Whatever happens, the world will not end, but it will change greatly for the better. Aung San Suu Kyi just said when she claimed her Nobel Prize last week after 21 years in house arrest that the wolrd needs more kindnesss every day:

”As the week unfolds, try not to succumb to “compassion fatigue”—a psychic state created by the recognition of just how much suffering exists in the world, and the consequent reduction of concern. Aung San Suu Kyi recently described this state in her Noble Peace Prize acceptance speech that she delivered 21 years after the prize was awarded. She also said that while she was under house arrest “the lesson of kindness, small or big” convinced her “that there could never be enough of it in the world.” These are such necessary words for those who choose compassion as an antidote for the violence and cruelty of ignorance. Given the blaring and seemingly endless conflicts we encounter everyday, everywhere, compassion fatigue surrounds us. Rather than succumb to what may be the most profound heart disease of our time, renew your efforts to reach out to your fellow travelers and offer shelter from the storm. According to Aung San Suu Kyi, “Kindness can change the lives of people.”

To put it another way: ”The world needs love, sweet love. It’s the only thing there’s too little of” (the Beatles).

  33. Noelle says:

    Thank you, Andre. Beautiful.

  34. Nina says:

The God Particle got that nickname from a book of the same name. The author of the book has said he called it that because his editors wouldn’t let him use the original name. Originally, because the thing was so slippery and difficult to find, physicists had taken to calling it the Goddamn Particle.

Which is an amusing underlight for me.

  35. Noelle says:

Putting electric wires undergournd, Karen. That is very expensive but if we could spend a lot less on military and do some stimulus spending, we in the northeast would surely benefit. Pluto and Uranus will have to work overtime on that one.

  36. andre says:

Sorry, I goofed, it wasn’t the Beatles. I meant ”Love is all you need.”

  37. clymela says:

pat sharp, dear friend, I love you so. Thanks for the support and back-up.

  38. Teresa Hill says:

Interesting opinion about John Roberts and his decision on health care and some other matters. A conservative, yes, but also a man concerned with his own legacy. Don’t want to look too crazy.

  39. alex says:

    Throughly enjoyed your comments and contributions;

your recommendated article, couldn’t wait to see it!

  40. Jackson says:

“What the World Needs Now” was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. It was a hit for Jackie DeShannon.

  41. Sharon says:

The fact that he has an Aquarius sun (among other things) may explain Robert’s refusal to be pigeonholed and predictable. This really is an interesting article that attempts to explain the mixture of liberal and conservative decisions (but mostly conservative-leaning) that Roberts has been involved in. But it doesn’t help me understand Citizen’s United decision or free speech protection for lying on a resume, two decisions he supported! (And he really does have some strong ties to Scalia’s chart as well as some similar planetary placements, but there must be marked differences, too.)

  42. Teresa Hill says:

It is really interesting. Scalia’s supposedly furious over the health care decision, furious at Roberts. And Scalia’s getting more open about his fury, ala the swipe he took at Obama in a ruling earlier this year.

Maybe with Roberts it’s ego or being high on his own power, maybe refusing now to let anyone tell him what to do.

Maybe he regrets Citizens United. Thinks he got pushed too far and won’t be pushed too far again by his masters.

    I don’t know, but it’s really interesting.

  43. will says:

Wishing you dry, cooling breezes and restored everything. Hard to believe what you have had to endure. Godspeed, God particle!

Thanks for the Daily Kos re: ‘likely states up for grabs.’ If Kos has it right, those are some fairly splendid projections. The three that would probably make the biggest difference nationally would be PA, Iowa and Michigan. Right now, I think Romney is lost and is without a narrative.

Sharon can you link to b/d info for the Supremes? I haven’t looked at their chars and I would like to.
I have had more than one Aquarius in my life and I know from experience that they can be absolutely intractable if they believe that they are being pushed or manipulated against their instinct. I would think that if Roberts did what he did for his position in history that would not be coming from the Aquarius part.

  46. Jerry says:

    Hi Noelle,

Alarmist? Now you have me thinking there Noelle. Alarmist in the sense of dread? Or alarmist in the sense of reviewing the timing for possible logical scenarios that we would rather not contemplate? Nancy for example, who we all regard with much fondness and respect, presents a cogent near-term forecast at the beginning of each thread on the issues of the day. The premise that the political process and life in general will forever stay the course and never diverge from the acceptable norm is taken for granted and understandable. But the fact is, history has proven time and time again that in spite of the worlds leaders best efforts, extraordinary imbalances have a way of compensating to the other extreme. The unsustainable, staggering US/European economic debt is being patched up by a series of woefully inadequate measures. The dam is going to burst sooner or later. The same could be said of Iran’s race to achieve nuclear parity with the west. Israel has made it clear that Iran’s crossing of the nuclear threshold would be unacceptable. The outcome of a mid east war would be extremely destabilizing to the worlds fragile economy. It’s all a matter of timing and I would suggest there are deeper spiritual forces at work that will eventually guide humanity in the right direction, BUT it’s in everyones interest to be aware of the over-all risks. If you are sleeping – one day this thing might suddenly come up and bite you and you might be totally unprepared.

  47. barbk says:

On the previous thread I wrote that Justice Roberts’ natal Neptune in Libra squares his Jupiter and Uranus. He could have a serious “awakening” when Saturn conjuncts his Neptune again in September, especially since transiting Uranus will still be only 1 degree from conjunct his natal Mars and transiting Pluto will still be in orb of a square it.

At the end of the month of September there is a full moon at 7 Aries (1 degree from his Mars at 8 Aries) with trans Uranus at 6 Aries and trans Pluto at 6 Capricorn. This is a T-square with Sun in Libra, Moon in Aries conjunct Uranus (and Roberts’ Mars) and Pluto in Capricorn. Trans Uranus will be retrograde but trans Pluto will have stationed direct by that time and they will have made their 2nd exact square 11 days before the full moon on Sept. 30.

Roberts also has natal Mercury in Aquarius opposite natal Pluto in Leo. At the September full Moon transiting Mars in Scorpio will form a T-square with his Mercury opposite Pluto. Transiting Venus will conjunct his natal Pluto. Chief Justice Roberts will have his Mercury, Pluto, Mars and Neptune fully activated by the end of September. His birthday is January 27, 1955. I found his chart by Googling but don’t remember the birth place. Pretty sure there was no exact time either. (Wish I’d printed it out now!)

  48. Gypsi says:

As a person with BMLilith (not the asteroid, the mathematical point) 20 minutes from her Sun, let me say that it isn’t just OUR shadow side we see a lot of. Others seem to show us their worst rather often, and we learn not to trust so readily.

  54. Lune Prière says:

    This just cracks me up!

“Get out and vote next year, this November, I mean!” said Romney, wiping beads of sweat off his brow. At one point, stopping to guzzle a glass of lemonade, Romney was asked how it tasted, to which he replied, “Lemon. Wet. Good.”

Lemon. Wet. Good. LOL! Methinks RomBot 2012 needs a software update.

  55. Sharon says:

Romney campaign was also criticized in a WSJ editorial over its “dumb” response to the health care decision.

  56. Sharon says:

I think you have to be tough to get through a presidential campaign, otherwise you’ll never survive the job. Obama has what it takes, Romney probably does not.

  57. Lune Prière says:

I love what you wrote cymela!

  58. Jerry says:

    Planetary Illuminations For July
    by Lynn Hayes

“…..As July begins, Venus has just turned direct and is moving forward again after her short retrograde period. The Transit of Venus is behind us, as is the first exact formation of the Uranus/Pluto square which actually began last year and will continue through 2014.

You can read more about the square formation between Uranus and Pluto here: if this is new to you. The two planets are still only 17 minutes of arc from the exact alignment, and it will be the middle of July before they really begin to separate. So throughout the first few weeks of July expect for this conflict between the structures of the past (Pluto in Capricorn) and the new ideas and patterns of individual self-expression (Uranus in Aries) to continue, especially between the 11th and 22nd or so when Mars enters the picture and acts as a trigger for the unexpected to occur. More on that in the planetary details below.

The Uranus/Pluto dynamic is intensified by the fact that Uranus will turn retrograde mid-month so its motion has slowed to a standstill in preparation for the change of direction. When a planet changes direction its influence becomes more insistent, and with Uranus we are dealing with energies of surprise, radical changes and a journey into the unknown. Pluto is also retrograde now so both of these behemoths are urging us to look back over our lives to see where we have stalled the progress of our own evolution – where do we need to break free (Uranus), what do we need to let go of (Pluto).”

    Not-So-Crazy in Tehran
    by Nicholas Kristof

    A NY Times Sunday Editorial
    June 23, 2012

WHEN I decided to bring two of my kids with me on a reporting trip to Iran, the consensus was that I must be insane. And that someone should call Child Protective Services!

That anxiety reflects a view that Iran is the 21st century’s Crazy Country, a menace to civilization. That view also animates the hawks who believe that only a military option can stop Iran.

Look, I have no illusions about Iran. On my last trip here, in 2004, I was detained and accused of being a spy for Mossad or the C.I.A. I’ve talked to people who have been brutally tortured. I think that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons capacity and that, if it were to deploy those weapons, this would be a huge and possibly fatal blow to global anti-proliferation efforts.

But we need a dollop of humility and nuance, for Iran is a complex country where we’ve repeatedly stumbled badly. For starters, consider for a moment which nation assisted Iran the most in the last dozen years. Not Russia, not China, not India. No, it was the United States under President George W. Bush. First, we upended the Taliban in Afghanistan, Iran’s enemy to the east, and then removed the Saddam Hussein government from Iraq, Iran’s even deadlier threat to the west. Look at the Iraq-Iran relationship today, and it seems we fought a wrenching war in Iraq — and Iran won.

Jerry, .lovely RUmi poem…..thank you…….Guess I should have said “Knowing” instead of belief…..because religions “believe”, & that’s the root of a problem if they differ……..
Focused thought patterns DO have the power to change outcomes……………… IF……… is part of the plan………………..meant to be;…… Fate/Freewill………… is a delicate balance. WIth Mars just gone into Libra until August 24th ( such a short window of opportunity!) I have witnessed / experienced the results of focused thought, ( yes sometimes undesirable results from focused negative thinking) too many times to not KNOW, the power of it. example: several years ago I coveted a door prize at an artists meeting. AS the moderator plunged her hand towards the hat to draw out a slip ….I took a breath and said my full name softly. She held up the slip…….. read……… Pat SHARP.” AND THE GLOSSY $60.00 DESIGNERS ANNUAL WAS MINE!

  61. Jerry says:

    Hi Pat,

Yes. Awareness or ‘knowingness’ might be more apt. I noticed a lovely quote in Facebook the other day that seems to resonate…… “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

  62. Noelle says:

Well, since energy follows thought, I’d prefer to focus on the direction that deeper spiritual forces will be taking us.

  63. Diane L says:

Downside of Uranus flipping off Pluto & insisting on throwing out the good w/the bad. States who need medicaid the most have Repub Govs who are turning it down. Sad . . .

  64. Jerry says:

PS Incidentally, I was delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Rumi Poem video.

The Euro Bombshell That Finland Just Dropped on Berlin and Madrid

    July 6, 2012

The Finns just dropped a bomb in the lap of the Euro zone leaders and changed the terms of the debate over Europe’s future. In an interview with a leading Helsinki daily, today, Finance Minister, Jutta Urpilainen, said that Finland would be prepared to leave the Euro rather than take responsibility for other countries debts and risks. She has also made clear she will seek collateral from Spain before committing to the bailout. That move is likely to bring just the humiliation Spain sought to avoid.

Finland’s position throws the Euro problem wide open once more. It is perhaps the least expected of bombshells and by dropping it the Finns have told everybody involved, including the markets, that the Euro is not Germany’s to dictate.

Someone said (maybe Starlight) that this was a political move for the time being in the hopes Obama would be replaced; that in the future, reality would dictate that they have to take it.

Here is another viewpoint on the SCOTUS decision re: the legality of the healthcare law from Alex Miller at daykeeper. It includes additional info on Chief Justice Roberts’ natal chart, although his emphasis on the square between his natal Sun and natal Neptune could be a lot less problematic than the other aspects of the chart. That’s because when Roberts was born the Sun was over 8 degrees past the exact square and it had changed signs, putting both planets in air signs.

  69. Francis says:

I hope that the people in those states wake up and realize this is about their own healthcare and that of their neighbors and vote the Republicans out. They are not helpless and if they continue to vote Republican they are making a choice. My hunch is that there will be many who say they will vote Republican in order to remain in the good graces of the red culture they live in, but that they will vote to support healthcare.

  70. Wennye' says:

Francis, I seriously hope they are awakening to the truth and not living in the dream of believing if they stay republican they too will get that golden egg. They’ve been told over and over again the Dems are losers and are for poor people. By no means can they be the ‘poor’ people! Blessings All

  71. Jerry says:

Noelle, I wouldn’t dispute what you just said, but one can point out the strange ambiguity of dwelling solely on political outcomes as is commonly done here in this forum in the fervent hope that it will solve all our problems. It’s a rather naiive approach given the gravity of what eventually will have to be faced. I think there is a middle ground somewhere in all this. To be objectively aware of the trends (within ourselves as well as outward events) to be aware of the maturing process can be a fascinating thing to watch. It is all for a deeper purpose, but these things aren’t necessarily tailored to fit our “imagined” goals.

  72. starlight says:

    Hi All,

My power came back late yesterday. I am cool and again have food in the refrigerator and light in the evening (not to mention cable news!). I am still pretty exhausted but life is getting back to normal. Thanks for holding down the fort!!

  73. clymela says:

Oh Happy Day!!! So glad that this excitement is behind you and the family. Welcome back.

The euro and China that will drive the U.S. economy numbers. A breakdown of the euro is the equivalent of another Lehman Bros event, or worse. To add to that uncertainty, China’s economy continues to slow down. The economies of Asia, and Latin America, like Brazil will suffer if China’s economy stalls. As we see with today’s unemployment number and job creation, the U.S. economy is sick.

Everyone’s economy is sick – this is much, much bigger than the USA or Europe or China – this is about a call for a deep, fundamental paradigm shift for the economies of the whole planet.

When I see people and politicians projecting this issue on to the president or the president even taking some of this on, I cringe. It is beyond what any of us are capable of understanding at present. It is a huge flip in the way we conduct our lives.

  79. omphale says:

Jerry…. Your quote “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”….is from a Harry Potter movie. Can’t remember which one. Albus Dumbledore said that to Harry when Hogwarts was under attacl from all the dark forces. Thanks for using that quote. I love all the Harry Potter movies…..

  80. Jerry says:

Sovereign debt is an insidious and dangerous growing phenomenon. The reason why it is an especially intractable, elusive problem in Europe that defies solution is that the Euro currency is comprised of 17 disparate EU member sovereign countries that have no central banking apparatus as the US does. The US Fed can simply inject tons of liquidity into the system to quell a crisis as has happened in September of ’08 with the Lehman Bros. bankruptcy. The Fed simply loosened the purse strings providing close to a billion dollars of credit to the US banks to stave off credit defaults. The ECB (European Central Bank) on the other hand requires a laborious agreed upon plan that must operate in consensus. Implementing quick policy decisions is nearly impossible. That can be hugely problematic during a fast moving financial crisis.

Here’s former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan’s thoughts on the European Euro currency experiment…..

Greenspan: Why the Euro Zone Is Doomed to Fail

    Oct 25, 2011

The euro zone is doomed to fail because the divide between the northern and southern countries is just too great, former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan told CNBC in a recent interview.

“At the outset of the creation of the euro in 1999, it was expected that the southern eurozone economies would behave like those in the north; the Italians would behave like Germans. They didn’t,” Greenspan said. “Instead, northern Europe fell into subsidizing southern Europe’s excess consumption, that is, its current account deficits.”

Greenspan predicts that as the south’s fiscal crisis deepens, the flow of goods from the north will stop altogether and southern Europe’s standard of living will go down.

“The effect of the divergent cultures in the eurozone has been grossly underestimated,” he added. “The only way to have several currencies from divergent nations lumped together is if they are culturally close, such as Germany, the Netherlands and Austria. If they aren’t, it simply can’t continue to work.”

  81. Jerry says:

Thank you. I was was wondering where that quote came from. I find it especially poignant and appropriate for these uncertain times.

Another Pluto-Uranus square definition as seen through the eyes of a canine (for all you dog-lovers out there, you’ll understand)….

  83. Jerry says:

For a more serious look at this major astrological aspect I found this well written article to be of particular interest….

    Uranus square Pluto 2012

We are now facing the first real repercussions of the advent of Uranus moving to square Pluto. The weather patterns are already a huge force in this energy pattern as well as the chaos, unrest, disturbance and turbulence in our global economy, politics and government with rioting, protests all pushing toward a new world order. This roller coaster ride is ramping up.

A small comparison, but after having been sick, and finally feeling well, the normal becomes euphoric. I can imagine that you and your family are feeling much the same. I’m celebrating with you in spirit!

NPR has a piece up on the power grid this morning, and how dismally bad it has become.

  85. Bob says:

Glad for your good fortune Nancy. Hope that you take time to devote to rest and recuperation before doing whatever you must do to put things right around you.

I had seen that the midpoint of return Sun-Jupiter was going to be swept by the return’s progressed angles before Sunday but opted to go with when your natal planets would be triggered which will be tomorrow. Thinking about it now the restoration of power was something you could experience but was not within your ability to determine. The return’s Sun-Jupiter midpoint was swept by the progressed angles late on the 5th and I should have mentioned that also when I posted my choice of Sunday. Hopefully the Sunday contacts are an indication of your full recovery in mind, body, and spirit.
