Some brief, last minute predictions:
Ron Paul is strongest and most popular though mid-January 2012, and to a lesser extent, through February 1. After February 7, he will lose steam. Nonetheless, it seems he keeps fighting at least until August and possibly right up to the election with a potential Third Party run.
Rick Santorum’s best days run from December 25 through January 15, with a special boost just after the Iowa caucuses. There is another bump for him, but not as strong, from January 26 through February 3. March to mid-April brings lots of shifts and changes and bumps and bruises, and from mid-April onward it is all downhill. Any hope of being second on the ticket will be crushed in July and August.
Newt Gingrich may do better in Iowa than expected which will keep him pumped up until his fantasies die in New Hampshire. There may also be a brief boost in Florida (January31) with some renewed vigor and bloviation through February 22. In March and April his candidacy completely disintegrates.
Mitt Romney does well in Iowa but may share the winnings with Paul and Santorum. He has a very strong win in New Hampshire. South Carolina and Florida are disappointing, but he remains very aggressive throughout January and February and regains his strong momentum from mid-February onward, winning Super Tuesday (March 6) decisively. May is likely to be his official crowning as nominee.
A virgin post – wow, no comments!!! Thank you for the update Starlight!
It’s still clown-car, but it looks like Perry is riding in the trunk?
Very funny Gypsi! Happiest New Year Everyone..Blessings to all, Wennye’
Dang! I was really hoping for a Palin/Perry ticket.
This from the previous post bears reposting…
Francis says:
January 2, 2012 at 9:36 am
a recent poll that I’m certain will be splashed all over the news found that 54 percent of Americans support going to war with Iran. After Americans voted for Bush the second time, I realized how dumb and easily manipulated my obese fellow citizens really are. Now this on the heels of the end of the Iraq war! We need to make it an obligation that before we go to war taxes must be raised to support it AND anyone in Congress who votes to go to war must volunteer their children up for the front lines!
Rephrase the question as are you willing to pay higher taxes to go to war w Iran? And are you willing to sign up your kids for a draf?
But then they’d say they don’t want war, and who wants to bring reality into the equation anyway
Thank you, Starlight. This is helpful…
Ron paul wont go rogue and run third party mainly because of his boy rand paul. It puts him in a very uncomfortable situation “do i support my pops and at the same time help my party lose or support the republican nominee”
@Lorrie U
What’s the name of the polling organization that’s coming up with those numbers supporting war with Iran? Rasmussen? Fox News? Knowing who’s doing the polling and what methodologies they’re using is an important part of verifying the data.
I don’t know, it was Francis’ post I was reposting.
From TNR, an interesting description of Romney on the stump.
“Regardless, though, he is still one awkward fellow. In addition to the fast talking and forced cheer, there is the strange business of his arms. When he gets applause or a laugh, his arms, which normally are up in front of him holding the mike, drop straight down to his side, as if connected to some signal in his brain that orders him to pause to let the audience reaction play out. This is usually accompanied by an odd facial gesture — mouth closed, lips pressed tightly together, and eyes opened wide and unblinking, a look that, when the cause of the applause or laughter is a shot at Obama (which it usually is), conveys a sort of pleasurable chagrin, a “more in sorrow than in anger” condescension toward the poor incompetent president.”
http://www.tnr.com/blog/the-stump/99102/mitt-romney-whose-father-made-ramblers
Pretty funny, and astute.
Luna,
I just noticed that about Mitt watching the Chris Matthews Show. Romney looks like a 70′s game show host trying to sell a lemon of a prize to a contestant. He is very wierd. He attacks Obama calling him Maria Antoinette but when he is by Chris to say the sentence “let them eat cake” in French he is honest enough to say he speaks french but won’t do it. Not much of an attack if you are trying to describe Obama as elite and efete and you are the one who lived in France as a missionary for a year, speak fluent French and was born with a silver spoon in your mouth.
He seems not to be able to attack well but he does have the well funded Superpacs
My favorite nickname for him (Anne Laurie, Balloon Juice) is Romney of the Uncanny Valley.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley
“The uncanny valley is a hypothesis in the field of robotics[1] and 3D computer animation,[2][3] which holds that when human replicas look and act almost, but not perfectly, like actual human beings, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers. The “valley” in question is a dip in a proposed graph of the positivity of human reaction as a function of a robot’s human likeness.”
Not sure if the money can overcome the revulsion!
Lune Prière, so nice to make your acquaintance here. This is Rome Again. So nice to see a Balloon Juice reference.
Hi, and same to you! I KNEW we had to have some other astrologers on BJ. I’m SIA – only comment sporadically but love the site!
Oh, I really don’t know a think about astrological positioning, really. I’m just fascinated by Nancy’s abilities.
I predict that the Republican primary is a long drawn out bloody mess with everyone slinging mud at everyone else. Making a weak Mitt Romney even weaker for the geneeral election.
re an earlier psychological discussion:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-01-03/did-psychopaths-take-over-wall-street-asylum-commentary-by-william-cohan.html
Interesting read. It is a good description of congress critters, too.
Starlight,
Very grateful for your stunning GOP primary candidates encapsulated sequence of astro-energies.
Nancy and all fellow StarlightNews gazers,
I’ve been overwhelmed since Friday night with the sudden death of a great friend of some 25 years. I stood up at his wedding and spent many holidays with him and his wife and two daughters. He was only 57 years old and had absolutely not one sign of bad health. He dropped dead in his driveway on Friday night as his wife and daughters were on their way home from Disneyland.
Needless to say, it has been heartbreaking and frustrating to get any mortuary, wake and funeral mass arrangements due to the holiday and Holy Day of this weekend.
It is often said that “Death cometh like a thief in the night.”
Death is the Great Awakener and the Great Clarifier.
This is part of my Uranus/Sun conjunction, no doubt. The sun just passed over Andrew’s transiting Pluto conjunct natal Mars in Cap in the sixth house about 4 days ago. He had a 29-degree Taurus Sun and a 5-degree Leo Ascendant, 29-degree Sag moon with Pluto in the first house. Obviously, I am trying to make some astrological sense of this shocking event.
Andrew was born on May 20, 1954 at 10:30am in Edison, NJ. I’d greatly appreciate any input. He died at approximately 6:30PM on Friday in Los Angeles.
I’ll be checking in over the next few days.
Good wishes to all.
will
Will, I’m so sorry for the devastatingly sudden loss of your dear friend and the pain you and his family must be experiencing. I do hope some of the great astrologers here will be able to help make some sense of it. God bless…
Lorrie,
I am grateful for your empathy and support. I know you are all too familiar with loss.
blessings.
Will,
So very sorry about your friend.
teresahill,
Many thanks for your kind words and support.
Will, my sincere condolences for your loss. I think the unexpected and sudden passings are the hardest for those who remain behind. I’m quite sure your friend is bathed in peace and light…wishing the same peace and light for his family and you.
Lune Priere,
Thank you very much.
Will, my condolences on the sudden loss of your friend, and my heart goes out to you and to his family. That hits really close to home, as he’s only 10 months older than I am. Life is so impermanent, and we are at the age where circumstances make us all very aware of that, whether or not we have Uranus conjuncting our suns (which I think that conjunction has passed for the final time, after stationing two minutes from exact on my sun for weeks). Anyway, blessings and be well.
Indeed, Jackson; it reminds all of us of our immortality and of just how little control we have over anything, including ourselves. The title of that movie, The Unbearable Lightness of Being comes to mind.
Dear internet brother,
May you be comforted by our Eternal Parent and though your question may not be answered about his sudden death, may you receive peace about his accension to Paradise. Sending you a human hug, Wennye’
Will
I grieve with you. I just learned this morning that my Aunt Molly died December 30th, passing peacefully in her sleep. Her death was a shock, even though she was very old. I once tried to get her birth data and she just winked and said, ‘When I was born, the earth was still cooling.’ She was one of my favorite people, and I will honor her memory by trying to me more like her.
Sorrow passes, love remains.
Will:
Hang in there, bro. So sorry about your loss. We’re here for you as your online community.
So sorry about your friend Will.
Betsy and Fe,
Mille gratzi to both of you for your kind words.
I’ll be checking in soon.
blessings to you.
So very sorry to read about your friend’s unexpected passing Will.
NeoBuckeye and Noelle,
Many thanks for your kind supportive words.
Will, I’ve been offline and just saw your post about the loss of your friend. I offer my sincere condolences and a warm Aries hug from the East Coast. I know how hard losing someone so close can be, and my heart goes out to you for what you must be going through right now. We are all surrounding you with light.
Blessings,
Stefanie
GOP Forces Country to Electronic Ballots… So Why Does Iowa Get Hand-Counted Paper Ones?
Martin’s story should come as great news for Election Integrity advocates and, in particular, Ron Paul supporters who have very good reason to be concerned about the process after witnessing — first-hand and on video-tape — blatant voter fraud carried out by Mitt Romney supporters in years past. The news is also welcome in light of a recent report suggesting the GOP would be counting votes in secret to avoid a purported “threat” by the hacktivist group Anonymous to disrupt next week’s caucuses.
http://www.alternet.org/newsandviews/article/758124/gop_forces_country_to_electronic_ballots…_so_why_does_iowa_get_hand-counted_paper_ones/
Will– thinking of you and sending love and light your way.
DPH,
Many thanks for your kind words.
Gratzi!
Haiti: Seven Places Where the Earthquake Money Did and Did Not Go
Here are seven places where the earthquake money did and did not go.
One. The largest single recipient of US earthquake money was the US government. The same holds true for donations by other countries.
http://www.nationofchange.org/haiti-seven-places-where-earthquake-money-did-and-did-not-go-1325609029
Do we have a specific thread to info about the Iran chart? They are making threats and I am seriously concerned we’re going to get dragged into military action.
Hi Betsy,
It’s interesting to note Iran’s natal Pluto (nuclear issues) at 18 Libra conjoins the US progressed Mars (the military). If we were to relocate this to the Iran/USA composite chart: http://i43.tinypic.com/acfwvb.gif we find that it falls within one degree of the ascendant which is a major focus of the chart. I think this aptly describes the contentious nature of the relationship.
At a quick glance, most noticeable in the composite chart is the Neptune (6 Scorpio) Mars (8 Taurus) opposition. I think this could very well indicate the occasional sabre-rattling accompanied by the ever present danger of miscalulation (Neptune). Transiting Jupiter will be conjoining this composite Mars in March 2012 which will undoubtedly stimulate that area of the chart exponentially. Whether there will be actual skirmishes or confrontation at that time is hard to say.
I was looking at the March 13th grand trine of Pluto-Jupiter-Mars-Venus earlier in relation to the Euro currency. However, the tensions in the Persian Gulf can also play into this configuration. Israel is an added factor which might need to be taken into consideration.
Wow, that sounds like it’s something to keep an eye on. Thanks Jerry.
LOrrie U, very interesting re Haiti. Matthew spoke about this some time ago particularly referrencing Bush and Clinton and I thought that couldn’t be so. Guess it could. Thanks for posting. What a shame.
Yes, I remember something about that, and always wondered why they were first and foremost handling the money with their “foundation.” Now we know why. I don’t know how they get away with it. We certainly couldn’t.
will – I am so sorry about your friend. There is nothing like a good friend of many years, someone who can never be replaced. We starlighters are all thinking of you. What strikes me about the chart is the following:
The Sun had just passed his Mars and Pluto is getting close to his Mars. I wonder if he got irritated or angry about something during the day leading into his death in a way that might have set something off.
I also noticed that tr Neptune is square to his Sun which has been building for the final pass during the last two months. that could have given him a general weakening of his life force that then got hit with the strong energy of mars. I have not done the progressions which would no doubt fill in many more details.
And finally, note that tr Mars is very slowly crossing the semisquare to his Ascendant. Again irritation, impatience perhaps leading to a fall, accident or upset.
Starlight,
Thank you for helping me to understand this tragic, sudden event on an astrological level. I tend to concur with your noting the passing of the sun over transiting Pluto and his natal Mars. He did, in fact do quite a bit of hard, physical work that day – and it was unseasonably hot, yet dry. It is interesting to note that his father passed away suddenly, at the very same age. All of his other older brothers are in good health, as are both of his younger sisters. He may have been the one to have gotten the weak gene for heart stress.
Many thanks to you for studying his chart. We bury him in just a few hours, after the funeral mass at 2:30.
Blessings.
Mitt Romney does well in Iowa but may share the winnings with Paul and Santorum.
I am thinking it will be seen as a three-way tie.
Starlight,
You did great. I take so much comfort in knowing at this point you think Obama will be elected (baring further info. about who is his opponent, of course.)
Rick Perry’s speech tonight looks like a wave of the white flag. He may “return to Texas to assess his path”. I’m wondering if his donors are having second thoughts.
Will, I, too, am sorry to hear of the passing of your dear friend. I’m old enough to read the obits and have noticed a number of “died suddenly or unexpectedly” lately. I just checked my emails and was told of no less that 4 deaths. (I’m not that old!) I believe we are going to see much more of this as the year progresses. Good reminder to let those we love know how much we love them and make time for them.
Love and Light to you.
Noelle,
Thank you for your empathic words – and yes, I believe you are on to something regarding sudden deaths and a likely precipitous increase of them over the next few years. The changes we are about to experience will cause those who are rigid and recalcitrant to change overwhelming stress. The Tibetan Buddhists have referred to our current Zeitgeist as “the time of Great Dying.” They must be on to something, huh?
So far, Rick and Mitt are at 24% and Paul at 22%.
Just 3 clowns within the next few days I reckon….
Will, I am sorry for your loss. Life is brief, a friendship that long is a treasure!
nancy, looks like you were on the money once again. I am stunned that anyone takes Santorum seriously. he is about as creepy as they come. And he thinks states should be able to ban birth control (but I’m sure not viagra- of course).
Will, am very sorry for the passing of your friend. That is hard news and as others have mentioned, even harder when sudden. And an old friend can never be replaced.
pam,
you are so very correct about the ‘irreplaceable” nature of a dear, good friend. Thank you for your kind words.
Will, Sorry about the sudden loss of your friend. May he walk on the path of love and light on his continuing journey and may all who knew and loved him find peace.
Will
My heart goes out to you and your deceased friend. I know what it feels like. In the past decade I’ve lost a goodly number of very close, loyal friends; none of them elderly, all of them relatively young as was your friend. Since my last posting here a few months ago my wife & I have lost our jobs and our house. From June to the present we’ve been experiencing a weird pattern of very very bad news paired with very very good news coming on the same day or a day apart, this having occurred now several times. We are now about 3/4 moved from NC to WA state where we now must start our lives all over again at a relatively advanced point in our lives, also in different professions.
Starlight
I’ve been away from the net for a few months. It is so, so good to read your blog again. To praise you for you brilliant astro-political insight or for your writing skill seems redundant. It is a given! When & if you ever write a book on the astrology of anything at all, I will be the first in line to buy and recommend it.
Welcome to Washington State! I hope you will be happy here.
Yes, welcome to Washington State. This can be an expensive place to live depending on where in the state you are located, and because we don’t have a state income tax there is a tendency for the government to nickle and dime you. However, once you settle in, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Good wishes to you.
Davis,
May God hold you and your wife in His/Her divine hand during your turbulent transition.
I hope you enjoy the Pacific Northwest – it truly is like an Emerald City. I have a number of friends living in the Seattle area.
Bona fortuna and thank you for your empathy and support.
Will, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend. That is so sad…
(I am really trying to avoid the Republican crazy fest these days, but this article caught my eye)
The trouble with my uncle, Rick Santorum
http://dailycaller.com/2012/01/03/the-trouble-with-my-uncle-rick-santorum/
Many thanks, Lunagardner. Many thanks.
Rick creepy but he’s speech tonight about his grandfather’s enormous hands (he was a coal miner) pull the chords in my heart until he compared Obama to Mussolini. Do underestimate him, he won his Senate seat twice that was normally democratic and got bounce only by the big 2006 wave election. He’s got game, and can talk poetically off the top of his head.
Let’s hope he’s finished in Texas too. Texans have no patience for a loser in their top office, they have too much pride.
Being careful what we wish for: waiting in the wings to step into the Texas governorship on a pit stop to the White House is baby George, Jeb’s son. Heavens help us all!
Will, many posters have expressed my same sentiments in regard to your friend. I have a feeling that Andrew’s family will be relying on your for support and I know you will give it.
Nancy, unbelievable (but not really since you’ve always been remarkably spot on)! The after speeches are prime comedic fodder, for every election cycle one of the candidates uses phrases like “getting back on track,” and other such limp assessments. Or Santorum who pins economic challenges on the breakdown of family. Say what?
karen,
You were so right on! Thank you for your kind words and support. I am burying Andrew in just a few hours and getting ready for the funeral mass.
Be seeing you all soon.
Starlight
This is what edtamplin wrote abt Pakistan
PAKISTAN READY FOR REVOLUTION
On March 23 1956 Pakistan moved from being the Dominion of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Previous to that in 1940, also on March 23, at Lahore there was a resolution passed by the All India Muslim League toward the creation of an independent Muslim state. This was to be in the north of India and would be “wholly autonomous and sovereign”. The Lahore Resolution frameworked Pakistan’s first constitution.
The astrological implication is that the zodiacal degree corresponding to March 2 equates to about 2 degrees of Aries, meaning that is where the Sun was positioned on both the Lahore Resolution and also the Pakistan Republic formation.
The rebellious and revolutionary Uranus is also close to that degree, and will certainly impact on it in 2012 when Pakistan celebrates the Republic in March. THis can propel fast changes to the leadership of Pakistan, or more radical groups impacting on the country’s future.
IMRAN KHAN
The November 25 Sagittarian Solar Eclipse energised the horoscope of Pakistan politician Imran Khan, who was born November 25 back in 1952. His early Sagittarian Sun was at birth aligned with the autonomous Uranus. Khan is a constant critic of government corruption, and necessarily independent in his political ideology.
Khan originally carved out a career as one of the finest all rounders ever to play Test cricket. He was a national hero long before politics. He has also undertaken much charity work, and is a vocal opponent of outside influence in Pakistan politics. Before a rally in Lahore that attracted around 150,000 people last October, Khan stirred the masses and called for a political u-turn and a New Pakistan.
Khan’s message to America was that he would accept friendship, but not slavery. Pakistan’s mid term Senate elections are due next March when the revolutionary Uranus effect will be strong. Imran Khan, the so called ‘incorruptible’, is sure to be at the heart of the street level youth rebellion that sweeps Pakistan. As his progressed Sun now comes to join his birth Mars, his warrior moment has arrived.
I would like to request u when u get time Please also write abt Pakistan uprising and political turmoil and rise of Imran Khan and his party and whether he would be able to form next national government in 2013 thanx
Will I hope you find comfort in the memories of a dear friend and in searching the stars. As Karen said, his family will need your support and you will need theirs. Looking at the planets in your chart, your friends, and his family’s could provide many clues to the unanswerable questions but, as you know, astrology is a never ending street; there is always another aspect, transit, progression, new discovery…. May you find your own special way of healing.
pisca,
Indeed, the support is coming and being given, as you say. Mille gratzi!
David – Best of luck in your new life. Do both you and your wife now have employment?
Starlight
No, neither of us are presently employed. Thanks for the empathy and goodwill.
Davis L.
manastar – Do you have a link to the Ed Tamplin article? I have not seen that chart for Pakistan. Thanks.
here is the link its his predictions for 2012
http://www.edtamplin.com/articles/predictions_2012.htm
what ever the situation in Pakistan is very horrible for Pakistan govt so amny scandals for president and PM judiciary is against both of them. country economy is near collapse plus worst relations between US and Pakistan. energy crisis is at worst. This govt looks like to collapse in 2012 but elections looks like to held in 2013 and 2014 and if no credible, honest and brave govt come in this elections u will seen then total breakdown of Pakistan as country with many civil wars.
You did it again, starlight! You saw true. Thanks for going out on that limb and sharing with us. I love your sight/site!
Will, you are such a positive force on starlight’s forum that I sense you will be just as positive a force in your friend’s family’s adjustment to his passing. Loving vibes to you.
connimac,
Mille gratzi for your lovely supportive words. Everything seems to be unfolding well.
blessings.
Maybe another piece, possibly the best piece of the Colony Collapse Disorder puzzle. (I started keeping honeybees last year – it’s an uphill battle.)
http://news.yahoo.com/zombie-fly-parasite-killing-honeybees-230200867.html
I was just told by a Florida beekeeper that a University of Florida professor admitted in a recent speech at a beekeeper’s convention that one reason for Colony Collapse disorder has been found to be GMOs….this is their research findings. Bees are unable to digest the GMO pollen.
GMO alfalfa has the green light to now be planted and that’s
one of the major pollen sources for bees.
Sorry to all the Obama supporters, but I didn’t vote for this. He appointed a Monsanto ex-exec as our government head of agriculture. We need a SECOND party, because at this point we have only ONE – the one paid off by big business.
Starlight, you Nailed It!
Will, hope you can find the sunlight again in the midst of your shock and grief. Much good will being sent your way.
Stalight I appreciate all your entries. Looking forward to seeing the fulfillment of your predictions.
So far “you’re right on the money” yet again.
Thank you very much, Nick. Many thanks.
The Preaident is tired of waiting for Congress!
“As I expected, Obama is going to go for it: In his speech today in Ohio, he will announce a recess appointment for Richard Cordray to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The bold move — which represents a declaration of executive power Obama had been uncomfortable with before — comes after Republicans had stalled Obama’s pick with a procedural move built around “pro forma” sessions designed to make recess appointments impossible.”
AND!
“It isn’t just Richard Cordray. Obama is also set to use recess appointments to install his picks to the National Labor Relations Board, according to White House officials and others familiar with ongoing discussions”

Hi,
Interesting way to look at caucus results: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/01/-480-the-price-rick-perry-paid-for-each-iowa-caucus-vote/250859/
Spending compared to votes received. Biggest spender? Rick Perry at $478 per vote.
Texas does everything bigger, including making a fool of itself.
Here, here, Gypsi! A bunch of cowboy assclowns.
Hi Manastar,
Regarding your query on the future status of Pakistan as a viable sovereign country and using the birth data of 8/14/47 9:30 am Karachi independence chart as a frame of reference, I noticed Pluto is fast approaching a square aspect to the Pakistani natal Neptune degree. This will become exact in mid Feb. Because of Pluto’s retrograde station in early April it will then re-trace its steps in the Spring.
Marjorie Orr describes this transit, in addition to the upcoming Uranus opposition to natal Neptune later in July as a possible prelude to a “terrible meltdown” (note: there are no specific links available to this entry. Only the URL blog link is available)…..
Pakistan – Pressure Ramping Up/
from Marjorie.
(22 Dec 2011 17:14):
Pakistan is certainly living up to the astrology – or is it the other way round? The Prime Minister Yusuf Gilani has, in a break from tradition, spoken out about the possibility of a conspiracy presumably by the military to stage a coup. A recent memo seemingly from the Pakistan top politcos asking the US for help in keeping a rein on the military has caused major aggravation. The military were very aggrieved not to have been told about the Bin Laden killing mission and have become increasingly edgy about criticism linking them to the Taliban and Al Quaeda.
A previous post (Dec 9 below) indicated the unstable nature of President Zardari’s position and that of Pakistan itself.
Just to add to the information. Prime Minister Gilani’s Swearing in chart, 25 March 2008, is in dire straits at the moment and probably (certainly) coming to a sticky end. That chart has a Mars opposition Pluto square Sun which holds the seeds of ruthlessness and violence whether exerting it or attracting it And it is all coming to a climax with the Solar Arc Pluto closing the square to the Sun over the next few weeks. With tr Pluto opposition Mars from tomorrow onwards till mid January – which is scary, suppressed and could be the end. If his Government does survive that continues right through 2012. So life isn’t getting better.
His personal chart, 9 June 1952, has huge and discouraging pressures from tr Pluto square Saturn from mid January and a panicky-failure tr Neptune trine Mars in Scorpio from late March onwards.
Dec 9 post:
The Pakistan chart, 14 Aug 1947 9.30 am Karachi, is very much on edge at the moment till early January with tr Uranus square the 10th house volatile Mars in Cancer. 2012 looks a terrible meltdown with tr Pluto square Neptune and tr Uranus opposition. So quite devastating, great confusion. Tr Neptune opposes the Solar Arc Midheaven and Mars in 2012 as well which is panicky failure, drifting indecision. By 2013/14 Saturn Pluto move by Solar Arc to square the 10th house Cancer Moon – so an unhappy population, trapped in hardship and deprivation.
President Zardari has just had a confusing tr Saturn conjunct Neptune and square Mercury Venus is about to have a tr Saturn make a jolting square to Uranus in the final days of this month – and all of those repeat till after mid 2012. So it is a depressed time for him.
His Government chart, 9 Sept 2008 1.34pm Islamabad, suggests an upheaval from early January into February with tr Uranus square the Solar Arc Pluto. There is then an even stronger jolt from Solar Arc Sun opposition Uranus exact in 7 months from now. After which his Govt chart moves towards a Solar Arc Saturn conjunct Sun which certainly sounds like an ending.
His son Bilwal Bhutto, 21 Sept 1988 9.30am Karachi, Pakistan, who is stepping more into the political limelight looks to be having a seriously stressed, risky and unsuccessful eighteen months ahead with a trapped tr Pluto square Mars and a confusing tr Pluto conjunct Neptune; with tr Uranus in an explosive conjunction to Uranus and a highly strung square to Neptune. So whatever happens in the immediate future it is clearly not to his liking or benefit.
Latest from Matthew Ward is up.
http://www.matthewbooks.com/mm/anmviewer.asp?a=144&z=2
Virginia, thanks for alerting us to Matthew Ward’s newest message. I absolutely love it.
Do you all realize how sick this is?
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/05/education/texas-student-with-pellet-gun-is-killed-by-police.html?hpw
This from the land of Perry and Bush – it is possible to shoot someone in the legs or shoulders rather than shoot to kill a 15 year old. God damn it.
Here are my predictions:
Santorum – is a radical, extremist fringe “jihadist”
Paul – is way too old
Gingrich – is a historian and creep
Romney – is a liar and wealthy
Decision – ticket will be Romney and Santorum
Romney but not with Santorum – I don’t believe that there are that many extreme evangelistic type people who buy what he says. I think they will get someone as a running mate who is unifying and very respectable, like Condoleza Rice or, maybe, Colin Powell.
I think it will be Romney and either Bob McDonnell (VA governor) or maybe Senator John Thune. He’ll probably go with McDonnell – needs a southern wingnut.
Interesting and disturbing article on the next Inaugural chart from my friend Matt:
hpleft.com/010412.pdf
The likely Inaugural
chart for 2013 features one harrowing feature: a
nearly exact hard aspect between Moon in the first
house and Mars in the tenth, suggesting either an
aroused & angry populous or a wounded people having experienced a grievous shock. The hard aspect in question is a square, and it is within ’35
minutes of orb…
I would point out that tr Saturn will oppose the Inaugural Moon and square Inaugural Mars in 2014 during which time Pluto will be quincunx Obama’s Sun and opposing the US Sun. Clearly there will be great stress for the president, whoever he may be, and the country.
Also from the article:
First off, if President Obama indeed wins re-election in a close race, which is my current bias, then I can easily see this Moon-Mars-Uranus configuration describing a potential for rebelliousness on the extreme right – who no doubt, egged on by FOX News and right wing media reports of either real or mythic voting irregularities, will convince themselves that Obama stole the election, and is therefore an illegitimate President.
I will remind everyone that the progressed US Sun moves into a one-degree orb square to Uranus as of September 2012 for a year, and will be triggered by tr Jupiter, tr Saturn, tr Pluto in December suggesting some kind of big uproar and rebellion in the country, but what that might be exactly is still unclear. Matt suggests a rebellion from the Right if Obama wins; also possible is a rebellion from the Left and center over a stolen election by the Right. With Uranus, nothing is predictable.
Aloha Starlight,
re: Nature of Uranus w/nation’s progressed sun & 2012 election
With the participation of another Mercury Rx in 2012, echoing the 2000 election Retrograde process of a well-documented, well-orchestrated stealing of that election, this kind of thing is not unexpected. We expect the same kind of thing to occur in 2012. There is already evidence of interference w/voting rights, voting machines, re-districting, etc. The process of rigging, stealing the election is already in visible process. The stolen election scenarios are predictable, therefore not a true Uranian expression, imv.
Enlightened Pisces of the progressed US Sun that you mention involves compassion; blending of boundaries; innate urgencies to leap across illusions of separation into union with divine/universal/human/earthly oneness….Spiritual awakening & merging.
What, then would be truly unpredictable, unprecedented, out-of-the-blue; sudden-like-lightening scenario in 2012? You quote an article mentioning an over-arching Moon-Mars-Uranus configuration. Moon=emotions of masses of people; Mars=activated, action-oriented; Uranus=awakened, aware, shared ‘aha’? An awakened, active, population spiritually liberated from propaganda/political maneuverings which have succeeded in oppressing masses of peoples over millenia…masses of people left, right, center awakened to unifying truths would be stunningly surprising. Is this what we can hope for, as well as the predictable machinations of a political machinery that has lost credibility/integrity & is no longer capable of serving it’s purpose for being and is imploding into irrelevance? Your ideas?
Love that!
“An awakened, active population spiritually liberated from propaganda/political maneuverings which have succeeded in oppressing masses of peoples…. people of left, right, center awakened to unifying truths….” sounds like the occupy movement. This three-month-old movement has surged all across the world. There are many more yet to be awakened.
That fits more accurately with the upcoming energies of 2012! Uranus/Pluto does not settle for the old status quo.
After reading a few posts on F/B by young people who previously voted for Obama, I’m having big doubts that he will be re-elected. Many young people seem too smug and self righteous to vote this time. I’ve tried to explain that without them we will have Romney as President and it is likely the Republicans will keep the House and get the Senate and be free to make all the appointments they like to the courts, including the Supreme Court when Justice Gingsburg retires. I don’t know what to say or how to say it so that it could be heard. I’m worried.
I’ve been wondering for awhile now if we will see the 7/6/1854 (Jackson, MI) chart of the Republican Party validated in 2014-15. While the US Sun at 13 Cancer is in the crosshairs of Uranus and Pluto during this time, the 14 Cancer Sun of the Republican Party will also be directly impacted. If the Republicans are in full control of Congress, the Supreme Court and the White House, whatever is afoot then should have dramatic ramifications for both the US and the GOP.
God forbid!!!!
Francis, I’ve been thinking about your question all afternoon. We do such a crummy job of teaching history. Is it intentional? For we certainly seem to have a carefree way of repeating it. I don’t whether or not this would help, but it’s always interesting to see how people (young or old) respond to this: what would you like your country to be? Would you like your country to be inclusive? Or would like your country to intentionally — and by law (i.e. voter restrictions, et al) — to segregate by sex, color, religion? These issues are being adroitly manipulated by the far right, so that they take center stage. Further, the republican stronghold seems intent upon marginalization through codifying behaviors. Do we want to see physicians and women jailed because of abortion? Do we want to see our gay friends punished just because they are? Or….
Do we want to honor our constitution by making it clear that we are ALL created equal? And, that to counter that with the above is, well, anti-American.
EXCELLENT!

A Possible Nightmare Scenario for America in 2012
http://www.politicususa.com/en/a-possible-nightmare-scenario-for-america-in-2012
It will be a close election with Obama winning. I’m black and worked for a community non profit. In 2008, the running joke was that every black person would vote for Obama even the winos. In 2012, the winos will return to the natural habit, drinking on the stoop. Yes, we will have a drop off in first time voters and the young but I do see the President being able to increase his support among hispanics and the elderly who are fearful of all the immigration and medicare rhetoric of the Republicans. I don’t think Obama will have a problem with the white working class because in alot of states the governorship has turned over to Republicans and they have overreached with their attempts to dismantle collective bargaining. And if they think Obama is elite, I don’t think they will want to have a beer with Bain Capital Romney.
The youth are fickle, and think of politics like its a new movie or cd and if they don’t like what’s playing they become bored and disengaged.
I’m just reminded of Hillary Clinton’s quote from the book Game Change: “God must want Obama to be President”. Because he has always had the most uncanny luck in who becomes his opponent.
My only concern is not about overt voter suppression or things of that matter but the fact that Democrats/Independents might think Romney is benign because he was the governor of Ma.
My concern is that people forget right now there is a good chance of the Senate turning red. They already have the House. And if they gain the White House-Romney will not be leading the Congress. It will be the radical Congress leading Romney. Look what they tried to pass with a Democrat in the White House. One should shudder if they obtain all three branches of government.
The sad thing about Democrats is that they may not all believe in Big Government, but they believe in Big Daddy. We tend to think that the only thing we have to do is vote and then the President will handle everything. Wereas the Republicans are in their little huddles spinning and devising ways to push their agenda forward. Strangely the Republicans know what democracy is all about and how to use it and as much as we championed the ideals of democracy we don’t know how to organize or sustain a movement with a leader or Big Daddy.
It took grassroot organizing to be re introduced to liberals while the Republicans being doing it for 50 years thru their churches and rotary clubs. Interesting.
You make some excellent points, Sonya. One thing I think will be important is that dems, progressive or otherwise, need to emphasize not just spending but viable solutions for helping balance the budget and cut unnecessary spending. That’s what people are looking for and wanting to hear. They don’t want the good programs which help this country cut, much like the republicans do for the benefit of the wealthiest. They want tax reform so that it is more equal, they want banking/finace more regulated to prevent fraud, etc. If Pres. Obama steps up on that, and I think also allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, I think he will get a good turnout. Otherwise, it will be a close call.
Thanks Sonya, great points. I felt my anxiety go down a few notches. I truly hope your assessment is correct. I also like your point about Big Daddy who will make it all ok. I felt some of that too, with Obama and was deeply disappointed a while back when the Dems had the Senate and the House and couldn’t pull it together. I realized that the Blue Dogs were more like Republicans and worked against much of what Obama wanted. I know that if he has another term he will have so much more skill and savy in governing. I look forward to watching him. Again, I so hope you are correct!! I know Nancy seems to think he will get re-elected also.
Lorrie,
You are absolutely right. Yet, that dovetails in my complaint about Democrats. All our ideas come out of the great depression: spend, spend, spend. or become Republican lite (Bill Clinton). Create a safety net. I believe in a safety net but I don’t want us to become Greece. Repubs have all these groups, who spin and try to come up with ideas (bad) and they are great at marketing their bad ideas. Plus politics is thought of weekly and is intergrated into their community w/ their churches and organizations. We don’t have many forum like this to express and exchange ideas regularly.
We aren’t great at ideas or marketing. We are great at protesting but that just takes a couple of meetings. I said in another forum, that it is sad that the Arab Spring people have alot to teach the Occupy Movement on sustaining a protest. Now they are reduce to becoming a nuisance at small resturants in Iowa and NH by following canididates around and closing down ports. I thought they are supposed to be for the 99%. And not messing with small business owners, waitresses and truck drivers.
I dislike Rachel Maddow new commerical because she says Social Security is not a ponzi scheme. It’s worst than a ponzi scheme but its the best program created by man. A Ponzi scheme is an operation that pays returns to its investors from their own money or the money paid by subsequent investors, rather than from any actual profit earned by the individual or organization running the operation.
Social Security does pay out money to retirees from the money they invested. This generation pays out for the current retirees and the next generation pays out for my retirement. And there in lies the problem. There are more retirees (baby boomers) than current workers to pay for them. We need to talk honestly and have an “ideas factory” to start really problem solving and coming up with ideas for the problems we face.
I am tired of having the same ideas that were hatched in the 30′s replay themselves like nationalize the banks. Why not? Because it would of cost us more than bailing them out and making the banks repay.
Were are our great minds, and think tanks and community organizations that come up with ideas and how to implement them.
And we need to stop waiting for a leader. Because in 2016 the Democrats only have one potential good politician to replace President Obama and that is Gov. Cuomo and Hillary(and she will be in her early seventies). The Repubs have a roster like Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Christie, Barbour, Daniels, Ryan (can’t stand but people love his blue eyes), Thune and the list goes on.
It was supposed to say Social Security doesn’t pay out what a retiree invested while working.
Sonya, me thinks you have been watching too much tv !!! Try searching the net for a variety of information. The truth is out there. And truth is enlightening. Many good links are provided here. Please get informed about the occupy movement. it is growing stronger everyday but msm doesn’t want you to know that. Since msm has been forced to mention the occupy movement, there has been a barrage of negative and ignorant commentary. Some cannot grasp the idea of such a diverse group of peaceful people whose lives don’t revolve around the power of money. Sounds downright “UnAmerican” !!! But it is happening.
Sonya – the money in social security is invested in things like treasuries and does earn billions of dollars. They just need to let it alone and compound.
Occupy movement is not done, and has done much to bring awareness and change the conversation. And don’t be surprised if Elizabeth Warren become our future President, not Hilary.
But it was LBJ who took the lockbox off of SS. And once you open Pandora Box, especially a box full of gold, it’s very difficult to close. And especially not in this economy where the government is spending more and not taking in much revenues due to the lack of jobs.
I didn’t say the OM is dead. I said they are using some of the wrong tactics which if they don’t correct soon will alienated more of the 99% they are advocating for and then they will be done.
Francis,
You are right, but Obama has a measure of responsibilty too. He has these lofty ideas like Congress is a co equal branch of government. That hasn’t been the case since the invent of the modern presidency and Congress giving up much of its power except the power to spend. In addition to all the dysfunction and politizing of that body.
He is more of a policy nerd and he let the Dems go too far w/ loading up pork in the stimulus package. For instance, how many more employment centers needed to be funded named after Democratic Congressional leaders when there were no jobs. Re sodding the National Mall would not have lead to long term job growth.
And he gave the Senate Finance committee too much time more time than his own timetable for pushing thru Healthcare. Why did they think they could get Grassley from Iowa to support the bill when he was screaming death panels in his town hall meetings.
Obama has an aversion to 24 news cycle and he was wrong in not dealing with it by effectively communicating his own legislative successes. I guess he didn’t believe he had to toot his own horn but with a media that has given up on informing the public. That too becomes one of his responsiblities.
Plus, he got it into his head that governoring is in prose and not poetry. But he re adjusted to using the power of the bully pulpit to get his agenda across.
And just from a technical standpoint, he couldn’t use his grassroot organization that much. Because a president can’t do anything political on federal property. Nor would it be good to have all his political communications subject to Congressional oversight. Which would of been the case. All presidents have a learning curve, but I knew from the campaign that Obama was more interest in foreign policy even thou he was elected because of the economy.
But his responsiblity was minor in the scheme of things. Obama had a too many 10 alarm fires to put out all at once. A financial market meltdown, mortgage crisis, auto industry downfall, BP disaster, hurriances, two wars, H1N1 and pirates. I think he did exceedingly good. And I would concur w/ him. I would of giving him an A- but I would not suggest that he should grade himself in public.
very interesting article in Politico about the motivation of voters that is on point about what we are discussing:
http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/01/ppp-obamas-base-as-enthusiastic-as-conservatives-109864.html
I think Obama, like any first term president, faced a learning curve going into office. It’s all fine well and good to talk about change, but a lot of the longevity of our government is in those difficulties inherent to it that were placed there by founding fathers who had seen what absolute power had done in England, and in Europe. So they put in cumbersome checks and balances. But they also put in “outs” to get around them, and finally Obama is learning he has to use the “outs” to circumvent congress. Something Bush was very good at btw, doubtless due to Cheney’s tutelage.
Obama is learning to toot his own horn, and the economic news yesterday was all good. Infinitely better than when he came into office anyway. The republicans hate and fear this. And the military spending cuts are going to gouge their campaign pockets, but are totally necessary. Now if they would just cut oil subsidies, and let the Bush tax cuts expire, I think it would do a lot to “defuse” citizens united, until we can get it overturned.
‘I think Obama, like any first term president, faced a learning curve going into office.’
I am reminded of JFK’s response when someone asked him what was his biggest surprise after becoming president. He said, ‘Discovering that things are every bit as bad as we had been saying they were!’

How can that be?
I am not a stupid ass.
I am not a stupid ass either, but I am A 19 taurus sun too, his t-square is key
Gypsi,
Oh, thank goodness. Don’t want to be like him in any way.
Santorum’s venus is soon going to be affected by Uranus. When that happened to me during the last 5 years on and off, I found myself having some serious clashes with other, especially my husband. I think I became more outspoken and less likely to put up with sh*t.
Huh? Winchester, Va? Spent a great part of my adult life in that territory, on the Shenandoah river….Educational desert..Thanks for the info.
Whoa, looks like this dude and I have a couple of things in common! His Moon is conjunct my Mercury and his Mars is conjunct my Sun. We don’t really know his Asc. without a confirmed birth time, but mine is 23 Leo. Judging from the little I know about Santorum, I can’t imagine his bump will last into February. He’s just too far to the right, and, contrary to what Faux News would have you believe, most Americans are too smart to vote for someone who doesn’t have their interests at heart.
Also, Santorum is already facing some bumps. One of them is his hard to believe assertion that he said “blah people” instead of saying “black people”
From http://crooksandliars.com/diane-sweet/santorum-i-didnt-say-black-people-i-sa
“A few days ago, GOP Presidential candidate Rick Santorum put his foot in his mouth by saying “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.”
Santorum allegedly made the controversial comments when discussing welfare in an interview Wednesday night with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, but he maintained that people misheard the word “black” when he stumbled on a word.
“I looked at that, and I didn’t say that. If you look at it, what I started to say is a word and then sort of changed and it sort of – blah – came out. And people said I said ‘black.’ I didn’t,” Santorum said while smiling away”…
Gingrich also made reference to “African Americans” on welfare: must be some gop rivalry to attract the racist vote.
My initial read, with the sun at mc, squaring both Moon at descendant, and Pluto rising, in fixed signs, well a real harda**.
Not that this is news of course.
Aloha Sonya,
You said it, almost unconsciously:
“Were are our great minds, and think tanks and community organizations that come up with ideas and how to implement them.
And we need to stop waiting for a leader.” Thinking you meant to write “where are” and you answered your own question: “We’re…we are…” Love it!
Yes, totally agree we cannot wait for leadership. In a true democracy, leadership is designed to come from the people to their duly elected representatives. This process has been corrupted and thus doesn’t work for the people anymore.
As we watch many (Pluto/Capricorn)structures implode/dissolve from their own weight in corruption/greed/propagandist lies,
here are some viable ideas & ways of implementation for more cohesive & democratically empowered communities :

Hi Nancy– The Poltical Astrology blog has an interesting post up about the upcoming Mars retrograde, and how it affects the charts of both the Republican contenders and Pres. Obama.
http://politicalastrologyblog.com/2012/01/03/mars-retrograde-in-virgo-and-the-2012-primary-elections/
He seems to think that the retrograde poses real problems for the President. Does his analysis resonate with you? Would love to hear your thinking on the subject.
Regarding the adversarial relationship described in this link that occurred for Obama and another Senator the last time Mars similarly went retro in Virgo (Obama’s Mars is at 22 Virgo)–I’ve always heard (and experienced) that when a transit repeats in the future, if you’ve matured, you handle it on a higher level. I think the president can handle it.
DPH – in a recent interview with Astrodem, Eric Francis actually stated he was thinking of voting republican! So I can’t understand his thinking, when we understand what republicans stand for.
I read once that when people are in the privacy of the voting booth, regardless of what they tell friends and family, they most vote at the very last minute for the person they feel will keep them and their families safe. That makes sense, and it’s usually what you know that you feel safest with. Pres. Obama has proven he can make sound judgments to keep the country safe, while Romney et al want to start a war with Iran. That will count!
Maybe Francis intends to vote Republican to accelerate the crash and (hopeful) rebirth of the US. That’s a mighty big gamble, though.
This will explain much about Santorum’s creepiness…

Lorrie,
The line about him freaking over Viagra spam makes me want to sign him up for lots of Viagra spam!
This was in an email from Alan Grayson, therefore no link. Toooo good not to share…
Ilooked at those Iowa polling numbers again and again, and I asked myself what possible rational explanation there could be for them. And then I realized that there is no possible rational explanation. Only an irrational one. And it’s not the candidates. It’s their voters.
Let’s see. Severe highs and lows. Violent mood swings. One day, a person thinks that someone is the messiah, and a week later, the devil. And did you see the audience during the Iowa Republican debates? Violent temper tantrums. Inexplicable angry outbursts. Hmmmmm. What does that sound like?
It sounds like manic depression to me. All of those manic depressives, about a third of the vote, were forced to choose among Romney, Santorum, Paul, Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann, Cain and Huntsman. But the only candidate whom they really could have related to would have been the late, great Thomas Eagleton. (George McGovern’s 1972 running mate for 18 days, until all that nasty stuff about electroshock therapy came out.)
I don’t know why this would surprise anyone. Roughly 10% of the population of the United States is on anti-depressants. And only 4% of the population of Iowa actually voted in the 2012 Republican caucuses. Just who did you think those 4% were?
So now I understand it. Romney won the paranoid vote, everyone who thinks that the brown people are trying to steal all their stuff. Why? Because no one is more white than Mitt Romney. As I said earlier today, it’s as though Romney is on a strict diet of sour cream and cottage cheese, small curds only.
Perry and Bachmann split the schizophrenic vote, all the people who hear a voice in their head, and think that it’s God. Because Perry and Bachmann can listen to the radio whenever they want to, even when it’s turned off.
Ron Paul got the obsessive-compulsive vote, the folks who think that America is like some kind of mechanical wind-up toy, and the Articles of the Constitution are the gears.
And Santorum ended up with the manic-depressive vote. Maybe because they like the way that Santorum cries in public. Boehner was their second choice.
The US is falling from grace. Unconsciously people know this. No wonder so many are manic depressive. It’s a spiritual disease. These people cannot believe there will be no apocalypse, and that what lies before us is actually a better world. We will get there. The only unknown is the level of violence, fear and misery we will inflict on ourselves before we get there. The dominant Western culture must relinquish its thirst for world domination and its belief that happiness is a by-product of materialism once and for all. Many poorer societies are actually much happier, and there are limits to the growth of the GNP. We will discover the moral truths of the Great Depression all over again. The Greatest Generation, the one that understood the necessity of sacrifice, was not of our self-indulgent and narcissistic time. It must be born all over again. That is what the Uranus-Pluto square and Neptune in Pisces sextile Pluto will be all about.
Well said andre
bravo!
Very well said Andre
Pisca, as evidence of this post. I have access to the internet and use it extensively. You don’t know my television habit which are nominal. I believe in the Occupy Movement but their tactics after being shoved out of the parks are wrong. Thank is another thing wrong with liberal you can’t have a honest discussion about what we need to do to push our agenda forward. The QM tactic of attending campaign rallies and posing questions to Repubs: GOOD. Following candidates to their glad handing events like fairs and coffee shops. And sitting down at lunch counters reinacting the civil rights marches of the 60′s: BAD.
They need to stage events that represent the 1% and not events that alienate the rest of the 99%. As I suggested sadly they need help from the Arab Spring Leaders. Why don’t the contact Alaa Al-Aswany from Egypt.
DPH – Interesting piece about Mars crossing Obama’s Mars in a retrograde period of yore. I think the current Mars transit has to do with a shoving match with Iran, as well as a shoving match with the GOP over these recess appointments, etc. For this month at least, the strengthened aggressiveness of Mars is also colored by the success and good luck of Jupiter transiting Obama’s chart..
Cool!

Lengthy but covers much of what we discuss here…
Wow! This two hour video link, which covers and ties together quite a bit, and you are correct, is quite long, is also absolutely worth a listen. For me, its very “Pluto/Uranus” (if you can get past the woo woo conspiracy aspects) — taking what was previously unconscious or intuitive, seemingly disconnected information and literally beginning to put together a rational explanation for what is taking place in the world today. Thank you for sharing Lorrie.
Aloha, Drew
Thanks for sharing that video link LorrieU. Got a bit glazed over with some of the conspiracy ‘drama’ – but having said that, I’ve always ‘known’ that those that control the global money ‘allow’ the masses to think they are calling the shots. What I find interesting that the Rothschilds (european/english aristocracy) are mentioned. For several hundred years now they are the family (now entities) that have basicaly funded country’s wars. I think thats why I don’t get too hyped up on ‘the political drama of the day.’
The bit about unlimited energy is fascinating – the other thing that struck me is the number 64 – that number, multiples of 8 (also symbol of infinity) was used for computer byte increments. And look how far that ‘energy’ has come.
There was a comment from someone upthread about how the dems are not developing ideas. In fact visionary and forward thinkers all over the globe are quietly developing ideas and implementing programs. Like this video, these groups are participating in building ideas outside the bloodsport of today’s political area. Sort of like the indian banker who is making small loans to rural women so they can better help pull themselves out of poverty. Groups are making a difference, it is just that you have to really search to hear about them.
Good point. We are the change that happens. The big money guys have always called the big shots. We can be cattle, or we can think for ourselves. We cannot change the whole world, but we can light a candle, and another person can light their candle from ours, and so on.
The new Bill Herbst reflects your above statement, Andre — which was and is profound.
http://www.billherbst.com/Comm5.pdf
Herbst’s definition of the adult maturity he says is sorely needed to meet our challenges and take us off a collision course and into the right direction is the following: “I don’t wish to take on the academic effort of defining exhaustively what attributes make up maturity, wisdom, and adulthood. For my purposes here, it is
enough to include certain obvious qualities. Patience, thoughtfulness, ability to delay gratification, concern for others and the long-term outcomes of decisions
or actions, the ability to understand both simplicity and complexity, increased capacity for living with ambiguity or non-resolution, reasonably good communication skills, awareness of one’s own fallibility and compassion for
human failings in general, plus reverence and humility—all these are necessary components of true adulthood. There are undoubtedly others, I’m sure, but those qualities will suffice for this essay.” I agree with all that he says, and here are some “others.” For me the essence of maturity boils down to 3 components: responsibility, simplicity, and independence–taking “responsibility” for one’s actions and for the type of healthy world we want to live in and perpetuate, living by the solid, wisdom-tested, “simple” spiritual values and practices that that our early ancestors did (which does not include war and killing), and finding a way to take care of oneself and each other that are more or less “independent” of the systems on which we now rely. I think what Bill Herbst said has to be said. Yet, another way to look at what we are going to be facing in the years to come is that this is all meant to unfold as it’s unfolding and that those who live on earth WILL be wise and capable of participating in its Golden Age. Sometime I sense a lack of faith in the future. Yes, there are horrors that exist in the world, but, when I stop thinking on that level alone and look at the evidence that subtly indicates a Golden Age is coming, I can feel the light strengthening and sense how bright it will be. The president recently spoke to a school about a 16 y.o. who taught herself chemistry, then found out how to kill cancer cells with light. These are the kind of people who are going to inherit the earth.
Sharon, your inclusion of personal responsibility is the discussion of wisdom was keenly insightful.
Sharon, thanks for your post. I, too, think the Golden Age is approaching quickly. I love the story about the 16 yr. old. Light can be very, very poweful.
Thank you both. Let’s all keep the faith and walk in the Light.
Thank you, Karen. The Bill Herbst piece is right on.
karen,
The Herbst article you linked absolutely rocks. Thank you!
Nancy,
I wanted to share this with you in case you were considering taking a look at Huntsman as he is beginning to finally make some headway in the campaign. Probably too late
to get to the finish line but I just thought I would throw it out there.

So his Sun and Moon right now are in the line of fire of the Pluto square and the Uranus conjunct…
At one time or another, there have been discussions on food safety particularly GMOs. A recent study is shedding more light on how GMOs may alter our genetics.

Monsanto will fight these findings by creating their own skewed results, of this I’m certain. However, the cat is out of the bag, and it’s going to fight like hell not to be stuffed back into it.
Sharon, BTW, who is Bill Herbst? Like his article but have no idea who he is.
Noelle, this is Bill’s home page.

Ray Merriman wrote on his blog a few weeks ago that he expected the financial markets to turn bearish for about 3 years once Jupiter reaches 10 degrees Taurus in March, according to precedent. That would also coincide with the peak of the Uranus-Pluto square last seen during the Great Depression. I noticed that last week the new Greek prime minister stated that his country would go under in March if more financial aid was not forthcoming. Greece is in a financial black hole which has already cost Europe hundreds of billions. This time it may choose to let Greece go bankrupt, but Germany in particular may be underestimating the consequences on its own banking system. If an international financial hurricane is unleashed during the next Aries solar ingress, and it snuffs out the budding signs of improvement in the US economy, the impact on the US presidential election would be unavoidable and out of PBO’s control. That could in turn make Election Day a cliffhanger, as the Mercury station retrograde on that day would suggest.
Excellent points Andre!
Inherent in the Greek chart of July 24th, ’74, is a natal Venus – Pluto/Moon square at 3 ’29 Cancer – 4 ’29/ 4 ’32 Libra. The Uranus transit is nearing its final chapter in t squaring those degrees in March. Given the ominous warnings of a Greek default in March (see related article from Zerohedge: http://tinyurl.com/6t376ra ), one might anticipate an uncontrolled default and possible ejection out of the Euro currency at that time, a prospect that has many economists worried because of the risks of ‘contagion’.
David, Talking Points Memo reports today that Keith’s dispute with Current appears to have been settled, and that he will be leading special election coverage for the network following New Hampshire.

kiwi,
Very interesting, indeed. Thank you for posting the link.
I remember during the last couple of presidential elections there were all sorts of comments regarding the astro implications of the newhampshire primary first vote time. Has anyone looked at what that might portend for the republican field etc this time around?
In the event some of you have not seen/read this:
Predicting the Presidential Election in 2012
No crystal ball gazer – based upon 13-Keys system which has been infallible predicting elections since 1984.

“…Nevertheless, this still leaves a maximum of ten “Keys” and a minimum of eight “Keys” in the President’s favor, enough for Lichtman, who has never been wrong, to confidently predict Obama’s reelection in November.”

Thanks again, Nancy for all your work.
Another question for you: do you have an idea of who will be Romney’s running mate? I was thinking Santorum (to appease the religious right etc) but then I noticed you think not.
Ardy – I have no idea who will run as a second with Romney. I have a few I hope it isn’t but I don’t want to post them in case anyone with any clout is watching. Meanwhile, I really need Ann Romney’s birth time, in case anyone runs into it somewhere. I don’t think it is available, but it would really help me.
I love the way you think, Starlight.
From a very reliable source.
I received this from a friend and checked out the source–http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debka.com
Thousands of US troops land in Israel. Aircraft carrier coming soon
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report January 6, 2012, 6:41 PM (GMT+02:00)
Thousands of US troops began descending on Israel this week. Senior US military sources told debkafile Friday, Jan. 6 that many would be staying up to the end of the year as part of the US-IDF deployment in readiness for a military engagement with Iran and its possible escalation into a regional conflict. They will be joined by a US aircraft carrier. The warplanes on its decks will fly missions with Israeli Air Force jets. The 9,000 US servicemen gathering in Israel in the coming weeks are mostly airmen, missile interceptor teams, marines, seamen, technicians and intelligence officers.
The incoming American soldiers are officially categorized as participants in Austere Challenge 12, the biggest joint US-Israeli war game ever held.
The maneuver was originally designated Juniper Stallion 2012. However, the altered name plus the comment heard from the exercise’s commander, US Third Air Force Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, during his visit two weeks ago, that the coming event is more a “deployment” than an “exercise,” confirmed that Washington has expanded its mission. The joint force will now be in place ready for a decision to attack Iran’s nuclear installations or any war emergency.
Our sources disclose that it was decided at the last minute in Washington and Jerusalem to announce the forthcoming Austere Challenge 12 on Thursday night, Jan. 5, ahead of the bulletin released by Tehran about another Iranian naval exercise at the Strait of Hormuz to take place in February, although its 10-day drill in the same arena only ended Monday, Jan. 2.
The early release was decided in consultations among US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and the two army chiefs, US Gen. Martin Dempsey and Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz.
British Defense Minister Phillip Hammond, on a visit to Washington, was brought into the discussion.
The handout circulated to US correspondents from Hammond’s talks in the US capital affirmed that Britain stands ready to strike Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is closed.
However, that phrase was omitted from the British minister’s remarks at a news conference, following a last-minute request from Panetta, signifying the Obama administration’s interest of keeping a low profile on plans for attacking Iran.
Tehran too is walking a taut tightrope. It is staging military’s maneuvers every few days to assuring the Iranian people that its leaders are fully prepared to defend the country against an American or Israeli strike on its national nuclear program. By this stratagem, Iran’s ground, sea and air forces are maintained constantly at top war readiness to thwart any surprise attack.
The joint US-Israeli drill will test multiple Israeli and US air defense systems against incoming missiles and rockets, according to the official communiqu?/SPAN>
debkafile’s military sources add that they will also practice intercepting missiles and rockets coming in from Syria, Hizballah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
It will not be the first time a US aircraft carrier docks in Israel for joint operations with the Israeli Air Force. On June 9, 2010, the USS Truman dropped anchor opposite Israel to test a joint deployment against Iran and its allies. The carrier and its air and naval strike force then staged joint firing practices with the Israeli Air Force over the Negev in the South.
Washington and Jerusalem are doing their utmost to present a perfectly synchronized military front against Iran: American officers are stationed at IDF command centers and Israeli officers posted at the US European Command-EUCOM. At the same time, debkafile’s military sources disclose that full consensus has not been reached on every last particular of shared operation against Iran, should one go forward.
I believe this is true. Also, a Iranian nuclear scientist was killed today (4th since 2010). Whether or not this is the way to avoid war, I am sorry about the killing of any human being, particularly for their families.
Will,
Just so you know, DEBKA is NOT a reliable source. It is a propaganda site and almost always gets its information wrong. I have a close Israeli friend and years ago asked her to explain what was going on with DEBKA, because they kept on posting alarming stories about imminent war. She said they were like a broken clock — right twice a day, but most of the time, totally off-base. Just my FYI for today…
Stefanie,
I passed this DEBKA piece along because it came to me through a former editor of the Chicago Tribune who happens to be a friend.
I guess I was quick to pass off this hot potato.
I believe there was an assassination today of an Iranian nuclear engineer.
DEBKA seems to post with true authority and good contacts, so it’s easy to be duped by, and of course, they are sometimes right, but with little rhyme or reason.
Will — just wanted to make sure you saw that I posted this upgthread. I hadn’t been on the site here for many weeks, and then caught up last night:
Will, I’ve been offline and just saw your post about the loss of your friend. I offer my sincere condolences and a warm Aries hug from the East Coast. I know how hard losing someone so close can be, and my heart goes out to you for what you must be going through right now. We are all surrounding you with light.
Blessings,
Stefanie
Starlight, Anne Romney’s BD is 4/16/49 as posted in wikipedia. They usually post them.

Sharon – Thank you for responding. I have the birth date. It is the birth time that I need.
I am sorry for the delay in writing another post. I haven’t been feeling well this week and one of my sons will be coming home tonight for a few days. I will write something, hopefully, this weekend.
Feel better starlight
hope you feel better soon Nancy. Have a great weekend with your family.
I think this scenario of disruption and assassinations is more likely than an all-out war against Iran, at least in the immediate. The troop build up is probably more of a show of force than anything.
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/12/world/middleeast/iran-adversaries-said-to-step-up-covert-actions.html?_r=1
I agree Stefanie.
And a quick note on the great job-creator Rick Perry (the link title says it all):
http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Texas-leads-U-S-in-greenhouse-gas-emissions-2476015.php
Will the problem with that rumor is that if the US is going to war with Iran you’d see a troop buildup in Bahrain, not in Israel. Also I don’t think you’d see a physical invasion of Iran like you did with Iraq or Afghanistan — if the waterways were blocked you’d see a combo of the navy and air force. I also don’t think that Obama’s style is do big wars like Bush — if you look at Libya or Pakistan you see quite a bit of behind the scenes work and the use of technologies like drones.
In the latest Matthew message, it was stated that there will be no war with Iran, but there will be a lot of what we are seeing now – military drills, posturing and public statements on both sides. I am pretty upset that Iran has decided to execute an American ex-Marine for spying.
Michael NYC,
I did not take it as a rumor as it came to me ‘confirmed’ from a friend who happens to be a former editor of the Chicago Tribune.
I hope it isn’t true but I felt compelled to pass it along.
I just heard that an Iranian nuclear physicist was assassinated today – I don’t have a confirmation on that.
We’ll know sooner or later, won’t we?
Good to see your name on a post, Michael.
cheers!

Starlight, rest and feel better soon…Let your men pamper you a bit!
Starlight,
Sending you many vibrating bands of healing light from Santa Monica. I got ill a month ago and made believe Newt Gingrich’s portrait was painted on the bottom of the toilet bowl. I must admit, his face worked as an excellent purgative.
Well wishes to you and hope you are enjoying the time with your son.
Good wishes for you to feel better, enjoy your family and rest. You’ve earned it! Thank you for all you do.
Another excellent post from Charles Pierce.
“I’ve spent a month in the middle of an ongoing hostile corporate takeover of a self-governing republic, an attempt to hijack a country by the same people who nearly wrecked it, and who are hijacking it so that they will never be held accountable for what they did, and so they’ll have the opportunity to do it again. This election isn’t about the presidency. It’s about the power of money in our democracy, and it’s about the poison of money in our souls. That’s the debate we should be having. That’s the debate we should demand.”
http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/vulture-capitalism-2012-6638017
Yes, please do take some time for yourself, Starlight, to recharge your batteries. Do things that relax and revitalize you so you’re able to heal. You give so much, now it’s time for a little giving to yourself.
Hurray! New post up:

Thanks for all the good wishes. I am feeling much better.
Love this post, Nancy, and glad you’re feeling better! Totally off topic, so I apologize in advance, but I’m wondering you (or any posters here) are attending the UAC conference in New Orleans in May. I am and can’t wait to return to the city of my soul. May is also going to be wild astrologically, with two eclipses and the Transit of Venus early in June. WIll be great to be in the company of sages during this volatile phase…
